Guild Wars 2

I’ve played both games since their betas, and still love both games. But other than lore and land, they feel to me to be very different games. Hard to compare them.

The one thing I find myself missing the most from GW2 is story. I might be alone in this, but I really loved the story and the mission types in GW1 – how it would move you along to the next place, how it was a pretty straightforward story that would progress you through the game. I feel that GW2 is pretty lacking in that. Personal Story is fun, but it’s not the same. It feels more like running back and forth than any progressive story.

So, yes I still play GW2 nearly every day (and occasionally jump back into GW1), and I love both, but I think they’re pretty hard to compare and feel almost like two different games.

I am trying to transmute my starter Anonymity Hood with a lvl 13 Leather Mask, the Basic stones won’t let me transmute and keep the hood skin (though I can keep the hood stats with the new mask skin), however if I try with a Fine stone I can do it no problem.

My question is – is that normal? It seems off to me to have to use a Fine stone for such low level gear.

I’m on Stormbluff Isle and it seems like it’s pretty populated whenever I’m on, which is random hours of the day and week. And with a few exceptions Map chat is generally friendly, helpful, and mature discussions. (Though I admit I turn off all but Guild chat when in cities.)

i have a 3 year old boy and he is enchanted by the graphics of GW2. so i figured to make him a character (wich i steer around he does not get the concept as of yet to press AWSD buttons but he know how to jump) i am not allowed to go of the roads and i must be nice to the animals

This is very similar to how I played with my 7yo niece! She handled the directions with awsd and I controlled the mouse. And no shooting animals!!! Especially the moas, which is what she had for a pet.

Awesome post! I play with my mother, one of my brothers, and we’ve even gotten an aunt into the game! Now working on my sister and her husband.

Last month my older brother came for a visit with his three kids – 7, 5, and 4months. Obviously the 4month old wasn’t up to the challenge, but my mother and I sat down with the 7 and 5 year old and helped them create a character all their own.

I was with my 7yo niece, and after going through all of the races and showing her the differences she settled on a female asura. Something about their size. And both of the kids were set about choosing a ranger – pets were a must have! We dive into the game and the first thing she asks is where can we find more pets? She wasn’t interested in killing anything, just running around and making friends and exploring. Once I explained the downed state and how we could help revive people then all she wanted to do was run around reviving any downed or dead players. She’d see the icon on the map and say “They need our help!” and off we’d go.

Same here. Never made it in the game, just keep getting a log in error.

And we were so close to finishing! Okay, maybe not. Possibly 30mins away or so. Btu still! Tried so hard to participate in this event, but alas the game gods were against me. As I said, good try all. We did what we could.

Hey guys. I was having the same exact problem. Was playing fine this morning, then at about 5pm est when I tried to load it froze immediately at launch. Tried a couple of things, read a lot on the forums, and hours later finally ran across this thread that had a solution that worked: Game freezes at initial loading screen.

Different issue but the solution still worked for me.
