Hi
1) As was mentioned: If you go to your racial city, you can take a portal to Lion’s Arch. There you’ll find portals to the other cities and their beginner zones. Funny thing though: You’ll get down-levelled to be zone appropiate. So if you enter a new start-zone you’ll be down-levelled to 2 or 3. Doesn’t matter though, you’ll get XP that’s appropiate for your real level. So you can do lower level maps without taking too much of a penalty.
2) You can take on 2 crafting professions, but some of the mats can be difficult to aqcuire. So for myself, nowadays I sell the mats I get and buy what I want from the Trade Post. Low level mats are worth quite a bit, and can be an easy moneymaker while levelling.
3) Those choices mainly affect backstory. The only thing of real influence (IMHO) is race. Each race has a couple of Elite skills that are unique to that race. But those skills are never better then your class-elite skills. For example: Asura get a skill that will allow to summon a golem to fight for 30secs, while a Sylvari will be able to summon a Fern Hound. And a Norn will get the ability to shapeshift to a bear-from. Most of them are more for flavor then real use.
4) When you get a color combo you like, it can be relatively quick to reapply it from your inventory. In ye olden days, the color combo would stay when switching armor pieces. But it got changed along the way
A small tip if you want to do dungeons: My main is a Necro and even though I now have 4 level 80’s, I keep going back to her. Necromancer is so much fun to play. You have many different builds you can play and is very difficult to kill.
You mention that you were in 2 guilds and that’s good, because many PUG parties won’t take Necro’s along for dungeons. The reason being that us Necro’s offer almost no party buffs. We have condi-removal and some healing, but that’s it (AFAIK anyway).
Guardians offer so much more in that regard: Staff 4 will easily give 15 stacks of might to the entire party and the skill Wall of Deflection will make some boss fights a matter of seconds O.o
Also a small remark towards self-interrups: There are some skills (for example: Ranger – Longbow 5), that will cancel when you start to move.
Good luck and have fun
EDIT: about your post above:
Minions are independant of gear. Their stats are fixed depending on your level and can only be changed with certain traits.
As for the other 2 builds: They use Beserker gear. That’s maximum Power, precision and Ferocity. But that doesn’t really come into play until your 80 and start working on your exotic/ascended gear.
Until then go for the highest power and if you have a choice go for Precision/Power.

Hi, Alice Darkclaws reporting
I’ve been a member of [DDD] for almost a week now, and it has been a good week. I had only done hearts and some JP’s, working towards a 100% map, but they still did not hesitate to take me in.
With their help, I’ve done my first dungeons and fractals as well as several world events. At every step, they took the time to explain everything and provide tips, heals and resurrects whenever I faceplanted XD
[DDD] might be small in numbers for now, but we are friendly and extremely knowledgeable – The others of [DDD] anyway, I’m only friendly :O
So feel free to apply. I did and I don’t regret it
Btw Smilies are love, so use them often (y)
