Hey guys, so I’m almost max level on my engineer and it’s almost time to get the gear I’m going to use for most of the game.

I noticed that the consensus is basically divided into two main streams, those being Knight/Berserker (gear, trinkets)[First image] and Soldier/Knight (gear, trinkets)[Second image].

This would be a good build to be able to do some WvW and PvE (in PvE you could go full zerker or sinister, unless things change, if you pay attention to avoidance and stuff.

Could anybody offer any insight into this?

To be honest, there isn’t really a difference between the products.
With this I mean, of course they are different. They have different Brands, different strategies behind them, different prices, looks, et cetera, but the product itself is, basically, the same.
I’ve had a logitech mouse for 4-5 years, and razer mice since then for another 6-7 (2 nagas). The difference?
How the mouse feels, how it looks, the idea behind it, but the item is fundamentally the same. Some break in 1 year, other in 5, this depends on the single item itself. A logitech G600 might last me 5 years and the next one 6 months, and the same can happen for Razer, or Corsair (even though I never used Corsair).
Each item might have some defect that can present itself after a long time, and you won’t be able to know it before hand.

How can you choose?
Like this:
Price, size of the mouse (the naga for example is smaller than my previous logitech, but it’s down to personal taste, and even then you get used to it quickly), software behind it (I personally prefer Razer Synapse over the Logitech one, but I haven’t used it in more than 5 years, so things must have changed), looks (why not), and many other factors.
Also, MATTE or GLOSSY. Can’t stress this enough. I hate glossy mice because in my experience they get dirty really fast (sweat from the fingers, it leaves a mark). You can clean them, of course, but I just didn’t like the fact that they seem “oily”. I hate glossy things in general though.

Performance wise, not much changes, so don’t go too kitten this IMO.
But, again, this is just my opinion

Danto’s build is the build I’ve been running since forever, but yeah, my gripe is that I don’t last long when I’m alone, or even in group if I get focused. I guess it’s just down to experience at this point.
I’d just like to see some very high ranked teamplay, talking about level40-50+ tournaments, to see which one brings more to a team between an engineer and a guardian. Does anybody have a stream, a youtube channel, anything? (possibly an updated one, don’t link videos older than 3 months)

So I have to go for a shout/control build pretty much.. that means hammer. That I hate with all my heart. I don’t know why, but I really can’t get to play with that weapon. I’ll try to give a shot to some of your builds and see how they play out to be

What about engies though, are they better at bunkering at this point? As a bomb engi I managed to throw people off points and get the cap pretty easy last week, in a smaller map. I don’t really think you can do that in foefire since the points are huge, but how do they perform in general?

Hey guys
I’ve been playing a guardian since the very first beta weekend, always loved the class to bits, and I’ve recently started being more active in the sPvP side of the game, specifically in tournaments.
What I usually run is the common 0/0/30/20/20 or the 0/0/30/30/10 bunker build.
I noticed, though, that I’m not as durable as I would like to be, or as I remembered to be (even though that was hotjoin, and much time back). I mean, I can hold off a 1v1 just fine, a 1v2 depends on some professions, in a 1v3 I’ll go down pretty quickly, if not immediately. Am I doing something wrong or is it the way to be? Just to go down if you don’t have any help whatsoever?
I also tried a bunker engineer lately, and, at least on last week’s map, I seemed to perform better, being able to run into a node with 4 people and managing to hold them and annoy the hell out of them for some time. Now, it could be due to Foefire’s having bigger spaces and everything, but I don’t really think that’s the problem, I may be wrong though.
If you have any suggestions, please, go ahead and help a fellow guard out

The skin of the staff that you are looking at is the Corrupted Branch. The shamans’e etched is one of the materials to craft it.

Hey everybody
So this morning I got hacked, I got all my gems, gold, some items too stolen.
I already opened a ticked, but it looks like the only thing that can be refunded are the gems (looking at the forum).
The wierd thing is, I got no email saying to authorize a different login. I only got it after changing the password (the guy was from China apparently).
Anyways, is there anything else I can do? I ran antivirus, changed password on account and mail, opened a ticked already.

Done, finally. It was south of serpent thing, there’s was another coil and it unlocked. Apparently I need to run all the istances for the Been there, done that achievement

I’m stuck at 170/172 on Shiverpeaks. I checked online maps, and I have all of the white text thingies.. darn, any suggestions?

I would like to get this achievement too (Krytan 174/175, In Orr I’m missing one, Shiverpeaks 168/172, and I think another 2), but I’m so broke I can’t even move now.

If you are going for a dps build as a guardian, try to focus not only on raw damage (power), but also on condition damage. It’s true, the big numbers of the 3rd Greatsword skill are nice to see, but many attacks (actually, all attacks if you don’t use your f1) apply condition damage, so try to get that as high as possible aswell.
Personally I’m going for a balanced build, focused on condition removal, survivability and some dps also (I didn’t want to go full support/tank and do no damage). That said, the build I’m using is 0/30/10/10/20. I’m using Carrion gear (Power, Vit, Cond damage) and will be balancing that out with Cleric’s trinkets (Tough, Healing power, precision)
