for me its just zerging all the time
nobody cares or is even aware of what other players are doing (except for pressing f when someone is down)

the prob i have is not so much progression

i think the main reason gw2 becomes boring is because there is no variation at all

doing things at lvl 1 or at lvl 80 they are still the same
combat is doing the same thing over and over
teamplay doesnt exist at all
u can bash wow for milking money but at least in wow (and in gw1) u can choose out of say 50 different options at any time in the game (i had 100 templates on my dervish)
things like a parachute would fit gw2 very nicely or a walk on water potion/skill etc

the lack of ganking and personal nodes might be user friendly it also removes any thrill from gathering

the list goes on and on

Now u see ppl complain about rewards and progression and i can agree alittle that not every game has to be like that, but if everything else is totally boring a reward is what keeps people going.
So at least part of the reward complaining has a deeper cause; ie the game itself is not rewarding enough
U never pull off an epic move, invent a clever build, escape from a ganker, save your team from certain death, form up with another player to make a perfect combo or skydive perfectly from a vista onto a merchant.
The game just doesnt allow it.
Gw2 is designed which such equality in mind that it has led to total indifference
Heck i even have problems distinguishing one class from another they all feel and play the same

So instead of telling people to go to another game its time to admit that gw2 at its core is really boring.
And as soon as you done the tourist thing and visit most places there is no challenge left

I wish i could say otherwise but this is how i see it

IMO This game is not anti social, but lacks social aspects.

social aspects in this topic mean:

-being a player that gets noticed through his unconventional/excellent play (every class has only 1 or 2 viable builds)
-being the guy in your group (or as group) that stands out (through teamplay that doesnt exist in gw2)
-being the guild that stands out (through achieving things that no other guild has done)

these things are not possible in gw2

it is not about being friendly with other players or being part of a community

i hope this clears things up

GW2 is Fun-Centric, not Reward-Centric

i dont care about rewards

but combat isnt fun
it is mindless grinding one event/dungeon after another which are all the same all the time, because there is no teamplay/tactics whatsoever

so what do u mean with fun-centric?

How GW2 IS becoming a "Grind" -MY thoughts.

i think really its time to throw the ball back at anet

their mission statement is fun as opposed to grind

without any form of teamplay combat is just not fun and thus turns into a grind

so u can brag about dropping trinity and doing things different, and face it we all hoped they would actually pull that off, we are now facing a mess
of course people are looking for some other satisfaction (ie rewards) when the fun isnt delivered
When combat is fun the rewards are a side issue. Like in gw1 where u had an hour of fun and then discovered u got some additional reward (a title or w/e)

this phrase kinda sums up the predicament we are in:

“Most ‘hard’ fights are about dodge kiting since apparently teamwork and healing/tanking roles are evil- but running around in chaos, dodging and rez-zerging is brilliant.”

dont get me wrong i want to move forward, but as it is now chaos dodging rez zerging isnt more fun than trinity

We were promised an alternative for trinity but it just isnt there
so lets start with admitting that and try to fix it
we have learned now that class dependency and group mechanics can also be rewarding and are not only an evil thing that needs to be avoided at all cost

the problem is not the chatting or being friendly
im very friendly ingame

the problem that there is no real need to be social ,u can solo the whole game
and vice versa the actual teamplay is virtually non-existent so u can ONLY play solo. even if u are grouped it feels the same way

but i shouldnt comment too much coz i get this poor guys thread deleted or my account banned lol

IMO This game is not anti social, but lacks social aspects.
