I feel like a kittening noob. Thanks for showing me the light
Anyone else having issue getting credit for candidate trials? First I completed all tiers while representing Evon and got the achievements. Now when I go in representing Kiel, I can’t get the achievements. I completed tier 1 and 2 last night while in the same instance and nothing.
Why when I complete tier 1 and say take it up a notch does it go to kittening tier 4? I had to die then say take it down two notches to get tier 2, which I then completed. No update to achievements.
five pistol for the combo field, heartseeker for stealth
Are you fricon kidding me? How do you hit anything in wvw with a ranger? Everyone has some sort of evade, survival skill, and as a glass they come up to you, lock you down and you’re dead. in 1 combo. I don’t know if you people are full of bull or what, but there is no way you will kill anything with half a brain as a ranger.
Its called proper positioning. At least when I play GC, I never put myself in a position where any of the classes you spoke of can get to me. Higher ground, outside of the path of the zergball, taking apart the tail of the zerg…just some of the ways to be successful. And we can escape with ease with our stun breaks and sword or gs to make a quick get away or make space. And remember, maybe 1% of actual players out in WvW are actually elite.
I run a GC build using longbow/GS in WvW. I destroy people. I often will guard camps by myself and can take out 2-3 people at once. I have a Sigil of Fire on my longbow and when it hits, it hits for 4-5K plus your other damage. If it hits with rapid fire, dead people. If I’m running with a zerg, I stay on the perimeter and blast people down. Only class that can burst me down real quick is a GC thief. I’ve tried lots of builds and I’m having the most fun with this.
Grenth open anywhere?
I can’t believe all the crying on here. LOL This game is fun. When I started playing I was with the same people over and over in my matches. The same guy kept destroying us. After four matches and looking at every crate item, I quit chasing him like everyone else and focused on the crates. I love the plank, leap and steal. Fishing pole, pull them back away from the zerg. Guess what after I quit chasing and used the crate items, I easily won and got the achievement for winning. You really don’t have to be good, you have to be strategic. I still sit there and laugh my kitten off when everyone gets rolled. You can rack up a lot of points just for stealing the crab!
Right now all I have is all level 80 Yellow gear (rare I think?). I’ve not been 80 to long and haven’t even made it to all the different zones . I’ve got 8 gold to my name Should I try to buy an exotic weapon?
What are the stats on that gear? Rare gear isn’t bad if the gear matches your build.

You need to decide what your end game build is going to be, then gear appropriately. I use my warrior for farming, so I have him glass cannon. Every piece of gear is power/prec/crit damage. Go run COF and get your gear that way if your going glass cannon. Otherwise save your money or get someone to craft for you.
Maybe my build is kitten I’m a warrior that uses Rifle at range and when the mob gets close I switch to 2hand sword.
Your warrior should mow through these guys. I have a glass cannon warrior, GS/bow and I regularly solo the group event at one of the camps that leads to a temple. You have so many tools like shake it off, taking no damage, stacking might, etc. Maybe its your gear? Is your gear to level? Plus if you get the mobs to stack, you can hit them all with every GS attack.
Risen are nothing compared to the OP Krait and Hyleks with their poison
Orr is not a difficult place. If you are properly traited and decently geared you should have no issues, especially since its been thinned out. What class are you and what build are you using?
ROFL…great post!! Now you know how I feel when I play my ranger and my pet decides he is on steroids and brings me 10-15 mobs in Orr. Even stored, once I draw aggro from one, his steroid enraged mind makes him come out and want to fight all comers!
