1. Patches that focus more on permanent content, rather than on Living Story achievement hunt (new areas to explore, new classes, new professions, new skills, etc.)
2. Less zerg-dependent content – more dungeon-like bosses, revamped world
bosses (make the fights more engaging and fun, but do not turn them into The Sunless raid style of content and, if many people partake in the event, scale the difficulty and the rewards appropriately), more dungeons in general.
3. Make the game more alt-friendly – make sure that the old zones have always something new to offer even when you have reached 100% exploration, so that replaying old content with an alt is more engaging and entertaining. Make the ascended gear obtainable in many different ways, but also make sure that you can obtain each ascended piece solely through one of these ways as well- for example, if I like crafting, give me the option to craft all of the ascended gear (not just the weapons and armor). If I plan to buy it with laurels – I can buy it with laurels (no ectos, no t7 mats, just laurels). If I play dungeons a lot – give me the option to earn the gear with tokens. If I prefer jumping puzzles or WvW… well, you get the idea. Do not make people play all aspects of your game in order to obtain a whole set, let them procede the way they want. Fix the class balance problems.
And please make it so that if you have a large stack of something, say 100 essence of luck, you have the option to either “use 1”, or “use 10” so that I do not have to break my left mouse button to double click them all. Thanks in advance.
This is one of the few smart moves that Anet had made since the release of the game. Loot is exactly how it should have been from the start and meets my expectations, depending on where I get items from. I hope that things won’t change in this regard.
P.S. – And for the love of god, optimize your game for Win7 32 bit already, those crashes are really annoying and I want to play…

Well, I’ve read here and there and many people stated that this and similar out of memory errors come from the fact that GW 2 isn’t optimized for Windows 32 bit (there was also a developer, who stated that). Out of my 4 Gb Ram, only 3,2 are utulized and Windows alows for only 2 Gb per application. There was a suggestion to increase the virtual memory pool page, which I did – from the standard 3000 and something to the recommended 5,300 – it changed nothing. I’ve freed more space from C: and now it’s 7000, haven’t tried that yet but don’t think it will yield better results.
However, I can do fractals just fine if I set the options to the lowest settings possible and it won’t crash when I go from place to place (maybe because FotM maps are small and don’t eat up a lot of memory). However, if I try that in the normal PvE zones, it is just a matter of time before it crashes. I really hope that the culling fix for WvW tomorrow will somehow magically resolve this issue.
Also, thanks for all the answers and if I find something, which has resolved this issue or is at least helpful, I will post it here. I encourage other people to do the same.

Thank you for the answers, guys!
I guess I’ll have to wait for a fix on their end…

Firstly, good day to all of you who have bothered to read my topic. ^^ Secondly, I would like to quickly describe my crash history since the release of the game. When I started playing on the day of the premiere, I had the following crappy setup – AMD Athlon 4000+ 2GHz Dual Core, 2 Gb DDR2 RAM and a GeForce 9600GT 512 DDR3 (still have this video btw). It was running on Windows XP.
Back then, you can imagine that I had really low fps even in the starting zones (between 10 and 20) BUT I didn’t experience a SINGLE crash.
Now, when I have my new setup – Intel Pentium G630 2,70 GHz, 4 Gb DDR3 ram (not ideal, I know, but far superior to my previous setup) and kept my old GPU, which I plan on updating at some point in the future, it ran smoother but caused crashes, which multiplied with each passing week. The system runs on Windows 7 32 bit (could it be the issue?).
These crashes are mainly related to loading screens when switching a zone. It could happen right at log in, or it could happen two hours later. And its random nature is driving me crazy. Every time I try to play this game, it just wouldn’t let me do so. I’ve tried windowed mode, I’ve tried lowest settings, I’ve tried new video drivers – nothing seems to work so far. I’ve attached the Crash log, in which you can see that this error occurs over and over and over again. Please suggest a solution.
Thanks in advance,
Arch Enemy.

Thank you for the reply, worked like a charm!
Should have an in-game warning about this thing happening though.
Hello, so as the title says, few days ago I bought 1 karma booster, but none arrived at my mail. I thought that it could be because of the whole event going on so I waited until today and bought another two. They did not arrive as well. Why is that so? Is anyone else experiencing such issues?
For the record, what I did is to convert 2 gold into gems and when I made the purchases, the gems were taken, but no karma boost was avarded. I know that this isn’t much, but what if I bought something else, something more expensive or of larger quantity? I’m already disappointed for disconnecting at the final phase of the event and not getting anywhere near the chest, not to mention the frequent disconnects and crashes since the update, can I at least have that working properly?
Thanks in advance,
Arch Enemy
In the same boat as you guys… I fought through bugs during these whole three days and then what? Just when things finally started to get good (no lag was present) it crashed out of nowhere IN THE FREAKING END? Are you kittening kidding me? Even after the disappointment from the first day I still kept doing what could be done, in order to participate in this whole fiasco. I suppose you just like to waste people’s time, Anet.
P.S. – After the crash I couldn’t log in the game or even in THE kittenING FORUM FOR A WHOLE HOUR? WHAT IS THIS?
I would also like to share my thoughts about the ‘’Lost Shores’’ event.
I was excited about it. In fact, it made me get into the game again after almost two-month period of stagnation due to the fact that i pre-ordered the game and enjoyed it for the first two weeks for what it was, but then basically did everything that i wanted to do and felt bored.
That’s why when i came back few days ago and saw that there’s this big patch coming up, with new content and whatnot, I felt pretty pumped up and it motivated me to play the crap out of my warrior to upgrade it to his fullest potential for the new content, having loads of fun along the way.
When they announced the one-time events I didn’t even think that something could go wrong, even when I’d seen that trials will fire off at that time as well. So I waited for the event, thinking about how awesome it will turn out to be. Everything went fine until the ending of the first cutscene. From that moment forward I was just baffled – people disappearing and reappearing again, lag which makes my skills fire off after 10 or so seconds (at the end before my dc it was more than two minutes). Died several times, good thing I had some repair canisters with me, so that wasn’t a problem. I missed the event though, because as I gathered 6 or so samples to take them to the scientist, the game crashed without even saying why straight to the desktop and when I re-entered, it placed me in an overflow, where the event had already been completed.
I said to myself, well, that’s too bad but hey, there are some other chain quests I could participate in.
The donation thing wasn’t very useful for me, as I currently have little to no money. I went to inspect the washed up things along the coast, but to no avail. Went to Caledon Forest, made the 1st part of the chain, then did the alchemy thing and hit a wall again when I found out that the NPC, responsible for the 3rd part was bugged. Then I received a letter telling me that a fight has begun in Caledon Forest, but when I arrived, it was…you guessed it, already over.
So basically right now I am really frustrated and don’t know whether I should continue playing if this continues to happen. GW2 is a great game and I would love to play it for a long time, given that there’s enough well-executed content. I upgraded my PC because of it. Hell, I even own GW1 and all its expansions and while I liked some things and disliked others, I was fond of the whole concept and gave the second one a chance, thinking that this time it will fully deliver. Sadly, so far this is not the case.
I want to underline that I’m in no case bashing, I actually feel bad for the developers when I think what they’re going through right now – receiving blow after blow in the form of posts from angry customers, as well as mocking attitude from the trial newcommers.
I trust that you will learn from this grievous mistake, Anet, and make the next events a bit more exciting and a lot more fluent. Please do not fail your playerbase, because many, me included, want you to succeed, but in order to succeed in something you must first plan accordingly.
Best wishes,
Arch Enemy (irony at it’s finest, don’t you think?
