Idea only: Unbinding Infinite gathering tools

Greetings all,

Not sure if this was brought up previously. One thing with these infinite gathering tools is they are character bound once equipped. The general pattern here is they seem to come out during specific living story events with a typical theme, flame & frost; Tequatl revamp and more recently the Halloween event.

IDEA: what are peoples thoughts if a main toon had an infinite gathering tool and when purchasing and equipping a new themed tool the old would become account bound (once) to enable it to be transferred to another toon. This will support not only characters wanting specific themed gear with a gathering skin but would also support ANET with people purchasing upcoming infinite gathering tools for their main toons.

Open to hear your thoughts and thanks for reading.

Are rangers in really as bad of shape as they're being made out to be?

Well if you think rangers are bad try an elementalist, sure great for aoe damage in world PvP but get owned by EVERY class 1v1 in world PvP.

For instance just last night in 1v1 world Pvp I was chased by a Ranger with his bear, I tried to turn around and attack him at one stage but realised there is no way I could win, so continued to try to flee; with lack of adequate speed buffs I ended up dying.

This concluded to me, elementalists are badly broken seeing they are uable to kill 1v1 (world PvP) specific.

By the way, I am full toughness, heal and power spec with full exotics…..

SO go figure; just saying your class appears fine to me….

This is basically why im giving up playing gw2

Hope all works out anyways, and you guys are satisified with your Rangers class.

To all, thanks so much for the constructive replies. To be honest after my first little rant, I was thinking to myself I wonder how many replies will not be so constructive.

Truely shows the maturity levels of members in the forums, and to all you guys that replied I truely thank you.

Also has made me think of getting two sets of gear now, one specific with power/tough/heal for PvE and one set with power/crit/condition for world PvP. Only tricky (and expensive bit) will be to juggle the traits / skills between the two

Thanks again all for the replies.

Thanks so much for the constructive replies. To be honest I am impressed with the feedback from you guys. I will explore D/D alternatives for 1v1, however will avoid this like the plague

Thanks again.

Forgot to mention I am full earth / full water and partial arcane with signet specialisation and wearing full Exotics all with toughness / power / healing bonuses and level 80. I too use utility skills to survive and forgot to mention staff spec.

I agree with you re: AoE but 1v1 Elementalist is pretty much screwed.

Thanks Kreit for the reply btw.

Greetings all,

Unforunately this is a rant due to my absolute frustration in world PvP. I love the Elementalist class in PvE and have had fun doing events etc.. however in world PvP we as a class are totally weakly unbalanced. When classes are about to almost 1 hit u (i.e. Warriors) or what happened to me earlier (straw on the camels back so to speak) took about 10k in total in a matter of 5 seconds from a hip attack (multiple shots of between 1.5k to 1.9k), from what I think was a engineer class.

Where my fireball does 1k dmg and stikes 1 per what his 5? wtf are they thinking.

Sorry to vent, this is my first post and almost ready to pack up, just really frustrated re this matter.

Thanks for reading, sorry I know this has prob been said before.
