Really frustrating that it’s a RANGEr class and most of this new spec is primarily useful at way close range. Just. Why. Yeah, Druid had long-range capabilities but was mainly support. That’s fine. I like Druid well enough and I don’t mind support. But could long range power or hybrid or something?? get some love or use with this spec, please?

Feeling like Ranger got the extreme short end of the stick on this one. Used to, it felt like Ranger got at least a little more love than Engi. Like, we could commiserate about not being as useful together. But now with this new batch of elite specs, it feels like Ranger is at the bottom of the pile.

(and can we please talk about the elite armor item and weapon for Soulbeast?? Because seriously, wtf guys. Both are super kitten in comparison to literally every other elite spec skins. YOU CAN MAKE BETTER RANGER-THEMED THINGS WITHOUT SUPER-GLUING ANIMALS AND STICKS ALL OVER IT, FFS! deep breath Sorry. I’m real kittenin’ mad about those skins. HoT’s were pretty kitten. I was hoping for better this go round. Silly me.)

Yeah, the Beastmode is interesting. But it’s almost exclusively close range with only a couple pets that can actually do range beyond 900. I’m not sitting here complaining that I can’t ping everything from the other side of the sun or otherwise wreck from orbit. That would be ridiculous (though fun). It’s just incredibly frustrating to be so thoroughly boxed in to 130-900 range.

And the traits. Aside from a couple (that I can’t remember the names of, I was just so underwhelmed after reading them), they don’t really seem like anything other than just adept traits. Compared to the other specs I tried, it feels overlooked and underwhelming.

“I get offensive boons when I use a Beast skill? Neat. Oh it’s two offensive boons, one of which is three seconds duration. Hmn. If I have quickness on me, this one increases other boons applied. Alright, that’s somethin— Oh, that duration increase is two seconds. Awesome. "

Ranger is my preferred class and aside from pve content, I prefer to play wvw. It’d be really nice to have a ranged Ranger spec (or at least something with more use at range) that is actually capable of being welcomed in wvw for things other than roaming, scouting, and harassing. Ranger is my main and my baby hasn’t been outside of pve in over a year because of the state of the class. But I guess if I want to be super close range and be like a real slow-ass Thief with my daggers or other more melee-range weapons, there’s some space for that. Or I’ll just keep to my ele in wvw until things look better for ranged Rangers. I guess. ¯\(?)

A grace period would be awesome. Just something to address dcing issues, especially when the queues are so long. Or, ya know, addressing the server size limits or something. It’s obviously not a quick thing to fix, but it is a beta period for the new changes and feedback matters. Overall, I’m liking the new wvw stuff, but it would be nice to have either a short grace period for dcing or client crashes or something.

And for those crying ~just gave someone else tag up~, berp kitten , obviously someone can. kittening duh. But, again, it changes the flow of battle and it is disruptive. If you’re a wvwer, too, then you know that.

Commanders have different tactics and different styles of engagement. If you’re running with one for awhile, there’s a groove you get in. Yank them out without warning and even with a possible replacement, it becomes chaotic, which is annoying, at least.

So yeah, just something to either address dcing or server limits or whatever would be nice.

Hey guys, as feedback for the new WvW changes, since the queues are now often incredibly long, could you maybe look into some way of making it possible for an active commander to jump places in the queue? Twice the other night on SBI we had a commander DC and then had to wait a super long time to get back into the game, thanks to the queue. I mean, we had others who could take the helm, and they did, but it was a bit of an inconvenience, given how in the groove the original commander was with a really responsive zerg.

I don’t know if something like that could be feasible, but it really does mess up the flow of battle when your leader poofs and can’t make it back within thirty minutes. Even if there are others in the map who can command, it throws things into a bit of chaos, as it were.
