As I watched our server taking a CD tower this evening I saw FA come running in and CD sit outside while first FA attacked and then only come in after us when FA failed against us. Although questionable to me it was a smart move on CD’s part. Which got me thinking. For lower population servers wouldn’t it be great to allow them to become allied for wvw In that way even the lowest population servers could have enough heft to fight the larger servers. Essentially it would be akin to guesting of a sort. So when a matchup is made where BG is involved for example if an auto-alliance was assigned to have a combination of other servers that combined matched the populace of BG seems to me it would be fun to allow them to battle them. Basically giving more options for servers to play other servers rather than the same old matchups. Just an idea thought Id suggest.

Maps: Id like to have different maps for each bl. In that way you cant cookie cutter tactics and move from map to map using same tactic.

BL rotation: in order to utilize different maps for homeland bls a weekly rotation of homeland bl would be good to mix things up. Even possibly a rotation of different bl maps I.E. start with one set, then rotate to new set. Granted there wouldbe a limit to how many maps so that players could devise strategies. But something akin to gw1 pvp maps where there were multiple different maps and you didnt always get the same map everytime.

Roles: akin to the suggestions Devon listed in his article assigned roles for some groups (or let players choose which role they want to perform) would be nice with buffs special abilities for those asigned groups. For example: assign a scout and give that scout extra speed boost ability or something. Or assign a squad that as long as the squad isnt surrounded by other players (I.E. in a zerg) they get a boost to some ability (toughness, vitality) so that they have some survivability if they encountere a larger group. For players that dont choose to play a selected role, then how it is right now seems fine.

Balance: When outmanned – buffs would be nice for the outmanned server.
Some timezone balancing would be nice as well rather than battle like crazy to secure stuff then log in the next morning to find everything you worked to get is gone because the other server has hundreds of folks that log in the off hours and steamrolled the bl’s overnight.

Scaling: If a small server is facing a large one than tactics or not generally the small one gets steamrolled. Which doesnt really reflect properly the skill of the players from the small server. Perhaps auto-limiting proportions of players allowed on a particluar map to balance that out would be nice. Taking into account that the large server shouldnt be penalized because more of its folks simply like to play wvw. But in that same token a server that cant generate the same participation shoudnt be penalized either. The main objective of this suggestion being the ability of the smaller server or the off hours players to at least be able to hold off somewhat the larger server until normal hours resume. The above suggestion in regards to balance may be enough to negate this scaling suggestion.
