It would be a cookie cutter MMO, but it would appeal to more players. You are right about it would be cookie cutter, but it would be more popular and possibly kill WOW. That’s also Towelliee’s point, it might not be a better game, but it would be more popular.

Yea, Wildstar is a popular WoW killer. Oh wait.

Wildstar did not fail because of Holy Trinity, they done a lot of things wrong and caused the game to fail, but it’s not because of holy trinity. Just to clarify.

WildStar is a very descent mmo and after Drop 4 population has dramatically increased and new players join every day. Patches are (at last) towards the right direction and Carbine seems to hear their playerbase. Btw since yesterday there is a 10 day trial for new and old players.
As for GW2 i think it has the greatest combat of any mmo in the market, but i would also agree that needs some sort of Trinity. Not to make classes better, but to create some more sophisticated PvE content. Despite i like GW2 a lot, i think PvE content is not in the same lvl of PvP (which i found to be superb) and this due to the lack of sophisticated boss fights.
My last hope is their statement about how they acknowledge this problem and promised to deliver Challenging Group Content in HoT. We will see what they mean by this.

I will agree about WoW as a played WoD for a month before i got bored to death. Considering also its a P2P game it makes things even worse.
Btw if i was to play a Raiding style game, i would prefer FFXIV & WildStar much more than WoW.

Well, this has to do nothing with lore, gear, gold, rewards etc. Its about group content and how/what they will change, so it will be challenging.

More info will come as the expansion gets closer im sure. There are a few things still left to discuss for example specializations and guild halls.

We have seen some future stuff like Revenant, Masteries, New Areas, Strongholds etc.
One other thing mr Colin Johanson mentioned in an interview, is the lack of real challenging PvE Group Content, which (according to him) is noticed both by ANet and players feedback. He also said HoT will address (at last) this problem, but he didn’t give any more info.
So do we know anything about? It will be Instanced or Open World content? It will be more like Raids or more sophisticated Open World Boss fights?
Any thoughts?

I’m not sure if this was suggested before, but it’ll be great if the skillbar includes a shortcut for food. The space right beside the elite skill will be good because it synchronizes with the switch weapon button on the left side. Just my 2cent.

Good suggestions

Add to them one for Autotargeting on/off, possibly a keybind too. I along with many others use autotargeting a lot, turning it off to use certain mobility skills like Ride the Lightning can be a bit of a pain under the current setup.

Imho it would be nice having options in the UI for:

1. Separate On / Off names for Npc’s, Vendors & Quest Npc,s
2. Separate On / Off names for players, party, guildmates, friends, minions, miniatures
3. Separate On / Off names for hostile, neutral mobs
4. On / Off HP bar for all the above
5. Separate Self On / Off for name, minions, HP bars
6. Separate Animation Quality Option for self, players, mobs
7. Option to Show Only Your Conditions On mobs
8. Separate Char Limit / Quality option for self, other players
9. Separate Sound option for self, other players skills

Nice points. I wish we have a Dev answer on this.
