Pocket Raptors Bugfest

I was exploring Auric Basin and saw a gathering node. There was a pocket raptor somewhat close, but with a decent gap between the node and it, I thought myself safe.

It turns out pocket raptors are actually snipers that hit from >600 units away with what looks like a melee attack.

No real warning or way to dodge (outside of preemptive dodging) since the damage occurs before the animation even begins. And, of course, they swarm, leading to downed status and death in mere seconds, despite the gap.

This isn’t as bad as the Living Story bugs, but it’s still very frustrating and needs to be addressed. Please don’t let the pocket raptors keep their sniper rifles.

Hearts and Minds Bug

I’ve been doing this fight as well, and I agree. I was stoked to actually fight Mordremoth after the disappointment I had with Zhaitan. Instead, I’m disappointed again by the implementation.

I chose Canach and Braham.

Blighted Eir:
-After defeating Garm, he doesn’t become stunned. He keeps attacking as normal. Not a major issue since he deals so little damage, but still important.
-Sometimes Eir will reach Garm and revive him instantly, never becoming vulnerable to the defiance break.

Blighted Canach:
-The shield never seems to know if it wants to do a force pulse against the grenades or a bubble shield. The difference matters.

Mordremoth: (Get ready, there’s a lot of problems)
-Upon restarting, Mordremoth retains all abilities from previous attempts. This is a MAJOR problem given how much HP he has and how long the fight is meant to take.
-Upon restarting, the ledge that contains the first two rifts sometimes fails to respawn, making the attempt impossible.
-The ledge that contains the third rift has texture bugs that make it impossible to tell where it ends and a deadly drop begins.
-Updrafts sometimes fail to launch the character into the air, especially after getting hit by a rock (even if the character landed nowhere near said updraft)
-Updrafts sometimes fail to spawn during Mordremoth’s massive attack.
-Blighted Marjory occasionally teleports around the arena at random. Unsure if this is intended or not. (I know with Mordremoth it is)

That’s just as far as I’ve gotten. More bugs might exist beyond the third rift.

I know HoT is a massive expansion, and I know this hasn’t been easy on you guys at ANet. I like the concept of the mission immensely compared to the Zhaitan fight. But it lacks polish, and this is frustrating to those of us who see the Living Story as one of GW2’s best selling points. Please fix these as soon as you can.

First off, I’m 99% sure I spelled that name incorrectly. I’m also only 50% sure this is the right place to discuss this. (EDIT: Corrected the spelling on the title)

Anyway, the legendary Mordrem Commander shown on Points of Interest last week looks eerily similar to Elesh Norn from Magic: the Gathering, even though their demeanor and execution styles are vastly different. Though Elesh is certainly a “big cheater-pants” herself. Picture for reference

Not that Phyrexia is invading Tyria or anything, nor that the design is plagiarized. In fact, if it’s a deliberate shout-out, I think that’s awesome. I just had to post the thought somewhere.

LS2, First Instance -- Bug Blocking Progress

I purchased gems and unlocked the entirety of LS2 yesterday. As you might imagine, I was annoyed when the very first instance, “Disturbance in Brisban Wildlands,” was bugged, and I cannot progress further.

The step “Defend the eastern pass from the Inquest” never gains a green checkmark — even after the barricades are built and the boss is defeated. No hostiles remain in the area. Talking to the Corporal (which should end the instance, I imagine) clears the vines but does nothing else, and using the portal teleports me out of the instance — meaning I’ve gone through this three times now.

Please reply with any fixes you might have.
