I’m running 10(III)/20(II,X)/20(IV,X)/15(V)/5 and liking it. Scepter/sword and Staff. I swap scepter for sword sometimes but end up going back to keep a distance buffer in there because I’m not as good as Seven. I ran the 10/30/0/25/5 build for a while and missed the staff survivability and extra toughness because I like to play really stupid.

Create a couple clones then stealth/create a couple of clones then blink behind them. Then create more and act like a clone until they find you again.

Keep coming from different angles. Mix it up, create 1 clone the next time then stealth etc… The hardest thing for me is just slowing it down. Don’t shatter your clones as soon as possible, let them work for you. If they kill one just create another. Breath and enjoy the fight, don’t rush it until you know you have them, then burst with your shatters to finish them. The more opponents you take on at once the more important your patience is.

In a long fight the side that loses patience first will lose (usually me). Then sometimes, someone will catch you off guard and WTFPWN you but it happens.

It seems a lot of the time when I try to use decoy it only stealths me for a split second and not anywhere near 3 seconds. Am I doing something wrong or is there an issue?

How about a mesmer meet on any given server and we raid Orr with the goal of unlocking all of the temples for the server!

Is there something that keeps you from using any skills? Everyone once in a while during a fight my buttons quit working. Doesn’t matter if I click with the mouse or hit the keyboard. It happened to me twice tonight while in the downed state but I’ve had it other times too.

Go to the trading post and by green mighty armor and weapons (or craft them if you can), at your level or close. Upgrade everything you buy with power upgrades (garnet pebbles). Get jewely too. Put 5 points in illusions so your summoning spells come back faster. Mash the F1 key as much as you can and have the clones/phantasms to do so and try to keep your range with the greatsword. I’m level 20 as well and while it still isn’t as good as some of the other classes at leveling, doing this isn’t half bad. Buy new armor every 10 levels and weapon every 5 unless you feel you can go 10 here as well.

Hey Seven, learned a lot watching your videos. One question, in your “How to rally” video, do you remember how you rallied the first time? I saw you pull in skelks to rally after that, just couldn’t catch what you did the first time. Thanks in advance!
