The least that could happen is for me to get an e-mail telling me that my password has been changed. I didn’t get any of that confirming that was password was changed, it just WAS changed.

I am one of the very unfortunate people that got hacked. Yes, I got my account back, and yes, all of my gold was gone. Now, I (only) had about 35 gold and a Halloween Ghastly Shield Skin, but I was told there was no way that GW2 could refund my gold back to me.
Does this sound like you?
My suggestion is, why can’t GW2 give me a GEM CODE with the amount of gems on it that would be equivalent to the amount of gold I lost? For example, the BLTC has gems at 1 gold per 100 gems. If I get hacked out of 35 gold, Arenanet could send me a code for 3500 gems, thus I could transfer those gems back into gold through the BLTC and be where I was before I got hacked. It seems quite simple in my opinion because Arenanet can make codes for whatever gem amount they want and sell them via BLTC. How about returning gold to hacked accounts via a GEM CODE through the account’s e-mail address?
