I’m getting the same error again but nothing seems to be showing up on their twitter feed nor their facebook about login issues.

Well, for those who were summarily banned permanently for doing less than 5 gold worth of this so called “exploit” of a QA Nightmare and Dev oversight… and treated as if they robbed the bank, given blanket bans and account shutdowns and nothing more than a cookie cutter response asking for independent reviews… a petition has started to at least have them review their policy on permanently banning people with zero priors, located here:

https://www.change.org/en-GB/petitions/arenanet-change-your-permanent-ban-policies-regarding-the-snowflake-salvagers

It was only natural for people to salvage some of the things they crafted. While I completely and totally understand those who actually abused the system to make massive gains… there were a lot of innocents hurt in the crossfire. Please, by all means, review your policies and don’t be so heavy handed to those who didn’t make massive gains. If anything, just temp ban to get your message across. Cutting out your supporters, people who buy gems with money, is only going to hurt you in the long run. Treating customers like people you could replace later, only drives business away as word of mouth is a strong advertising medium as it is a two edged sword.

I beg of you, I miss m’friend on Guild Wars 2 and he’s done everything he could to try and appeal something that he was innocent of, regardless of what the charged masses say. I wish people would fact check things instead of making these knee jerk, snap judgments in favor of ArenaNet as if it’s going to get them something in the long run. This was nothing more than an oversight to begin with. By all means go after the ones that rampantly abused the error and bring back those who didn’t abuse the system.

Thank you for your time… I don’t wish this to be blown out of proportion any more than it has already. M’friend helped me buy this game as I couldn’t afford it alone due to being on a fixed income. He’s spent too long in this game to want to throw his account away. Just review individual cases and make your judgements that way… don’t blanket ban.

3 Gold isn’t worth killing someone’s account over.

Hi ArsenTiger.6218

Sorry for taking so long to respond, I lost track of this post somehow.

I too am a fellow tomato firmware user and I currently use the older Asus RT-N16 with Shibbys AIO 104 installed.
Can you let me know if you have enabled your QoS setting on the router. A problem I faced with GW2 was it was being classified as “Crawl” and subsequently being slowed right down by the QoS. I fixed this by adding a new QoS rule that classified all TCP/UDP traffic on using ports 6112 and 6600 as gaming traffic and moved it in the Games section under QoS.

When you say “we” do you mean there are multiple people on your network trying to play the game at the same time?

P.S. I do not try to treat people as they are illiterate, I simply try to break the conversation down to its “lowest common dominator” so to speak, that way regardless of your level of knowledge on the subject hopefully I can be easy to understand and relate too.

Good Luck.

So far, so good. There hasn’t been an issue, at least… m’boyfriend hasn’t complained about it again since he made the QoS change on the router. Thank you much =3

Absolutely. There was a scene at the end of the personal story that had everyone walking towards the camera and I’m like… OOOOOOooooo was waiting for them to come closer and wanted to screen cap it… but NOPE. Denied. And I’m like well kitten #8230; I wanted to commemorate making it that far, print it out but meh meh…

No worries there, I tend to get a little rubbed the wrong way sometimes because I used to be in customer service. Worked at VMware as a enterprise level technical support engineer for their business products. It’s hard to assess everyone’s… how to put this delicately… level of familiarity, with the products they are using. X3

That being said, to answer your question, just me and m’boyfriend on this network. So it’s our network that grinds hard after a day of playing. He’s just been resetting it at night after I get off of GW2. I’ll have him check the settings on the QOS and make the adjustments and try to regress the issue.

Below Merchant Value for Custom Offers in TP

in Black Lion Trading Co

While it would be nice if these offers had been removed by now, they shouldn’t really be throwing off the metrics of any item that actually has some demand.

From what I’ve seen on the websites that actually track the asking prices and the requested prices, it actually does throw off the metrics. If there’s an item that goes for more than an hour or so with a requested price of 1 copper, then it bottoms out that graph for the day and could artificially reduce the price of an object. But it’s still highly annoying to see people trying to undercut Merchant’s Prices because you lose a few copper to sell to someone asking for 1 copper above the Merchant’s Price. While I understand that people should be more cognizant of what they are doing when selling on the TP… it does kinda rob the ones who don’t recognize that even selling at Merchant’s Prices, will make them lose money.

It’s just a thought however.

I’m rather new to this forum and I did a quick check to see if there was already a topic about this… but I feel that the TP shouldn’t allow anyone to post below Merchant Value for Custom Offers. This completely throws off the metrics for anyone who actually follows the trending of asking prices verses the custom offers. It’s not like anyone is going to get a really good buy because no one can sell it below Merchant Value.

I do believe this should be fixed so we can get the 1 copper trolls out of the metrics.

I do understand relegating people down to technically illiterate but not everyone is as such. Asus rt-n66u running the tomato firmware. Issues didn’t start happening until I started playing. We noticed that the internet connection started grinding to a halt after a day of playing and when we can’t even access websites, a quick reboot to the router fixes the issue.

It’s not the router’s issue. With 300,000 sessions available, it’s the client that’s the issue, not the router.

What is your router make and model, lots of routers claim they can handle hundred thousand plus sessions but the true fact is the cpu in the router just cannot handle the load. Also just because your routers session table can store upto 300,000 sessions, it does not guarantee the hardware can match this.

Plenty of ISP provided hardware ( “Freebie Routers” ) are built using cheap CPU’s and little onboard ram, typically they are lucky if they can handle 1000 sessions.

The issue most people in this thread are discussing points to the typical symptoms of a router under stress and being forced to reboot.

Has anyone tried replacing their routers? I have seen other online services cause this identical problem including XM radio online. I also know that TELUS all in one adsl/ router systems here in Canada have the same problem. Set the ISP device as just a Modem and then connect your own equipment/firewall to manage your local routing and see what happens.

I’m getting the same issue. The router’s sessions table seems to be filling up and the only way of dealing with it is to reboot the router unfortunately.
