I quit bothering with playing via Boot Camp. A native client would be the only motivator for me to play again.

I erased my Mac partition and did a fresh install of Mountain Lion and GW2. Everything works fine now.

Can't launch the application.

I have repaired my permissions, but had no success. I can’t help but wonder if my BootCamp partition is somehow interfering.

Some people have mentioned that opening Activity Monitor and killing cider and/or transgaming will resolve the issue. Unfortunately that isn’t the case for me, but I would try it for yourself.

I have been having the same issue since the Mac wine port came out. I’m playing on a mid 2010 13" MacBook Pro with 8 GB Ram, Nvidia 320M, 2.4 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo. I’m running OS X 10.8.2 Mountain Lion. If anyone has a fix for this please let me know.

Until a solution is found, I suggest you play GW2 on Windows via Boot Camp. It performs much better on my Windows partition than on my Mac partition anyway.

Also, reinstalling the game on your Mac is a lot easier if you have already downloaded the game and own an external hard drive. Simply right click on the Guild Wars 2 application (or two finger click if using the touchpad) and click on Show Package Contents → Contents → Resources → transgaming→ c_drive → GW2. The file you want to backup is GW2.dat. Once you have it on your hard drive, just copy it back to the GW2 folder once your installer has begun downloading the game. And it may be obvious, but you’ll probably want to close the downloader window before you make the copy.

I hope this helps!

Fun — to answer your question, there is no error message, at least for me. It just doesn’t launch. I deleted the game with hopes that reinstalling would fix it, but now that isn’t an option. I’ve repaired my disk and permissions using Disk Utility. I’ve reset my SMC. Not sure what to try next.

I have the same system and can no longer open GW2. It worked for me initially, but mysteriously stopped working one day. I have tried everything I can think of. Please help.
