What I think is the worst thing about time gated content/gear etc is that if you want to have it the quickest possible way, you NEED to log in every day and make sure you do certain things in game EVERY DAY (daily / farming for monthly, crafting daily parts etc).
If you miss few days, you can not “play more to close the gap”, like you could with exotics or any other stuff, when you can just log in and play more one day (got more gold / karma) and it somehow balanced your break from the game.
So if you don’t have a lot time for playing but you want to quickly get ascended armor – you need to make sure that each day you do those activities which might not be the things you actually enjoy. also, it may leave you with little to no time to do things you like doing. – BAD
On the other hand, if you are the one who plays a lot – it won’t matter as it will not fasten the process of obtaining set. – BAD
What I mean is things like dailies / laurels being the only currency for certain things gives you a feeling of urgency, that you HAVE to log in, be it just for those activites. If it is like that, you start to treat the game as a job – BAD
I can understand it from ArenaNets point, as they want players logging every day. but for players, it is just a cheap trick that indirectly forces you (if you want to get this gear) into doing certain things in game every day in order not to stay behind with gear.
Brother Grimm – of course it matters how long it takes to obtain set. Why? well – if someone just realized that it will take him a year to gear up his characters, he might aswell say – screw it, who knows if i will be playing the game by that time? or maybe they will release new tier / content that requires lots of effort to obtain. Point is – if it takes too long, majority of people won’t care – and if ascended armor was created with minority in mind, why even put effort and money to create that in the first place.
I hope my post is clear and you get what I mean, i did my best

Well, if you look at added achievments, they are not game breaking. They make players kill doylaks / guards, take keeps / ruins / castles etc – all those things (maybe apart from the jumping puzzle ones) can be done only by actively participating in W3 – be it as a part of the zerg, lone roaming etc.
I was never a W3 fan, but with those achievments I started doing it and I find this aspect of the game really fun. I try to help as much as I can, not just “leech” achievs with zerg.
Obviously there are going to be people whose main and only goal are achievs, who will not cooperate, but I think they are minority.
Overall, I see much more pros than cons of that decision, however I can see how it can frustrate hardcore WvWers with time queues and incompetent new ppl.
Guys – path they are removing was bugged (dumb).
Spiders on last boss were not despawning. If new players go there and wipe 3 times, they need to repeat dungeon. It is plain broken, no matter what you say. It is like bosses would not loose stacks of their buffs after wipe etc, it is not normal and anti-player thing.
What I think has happened is just they weren’t able to fix it, so they remove it with a better thought-out path that all can complete, where mechanics can be learned WITHOUT having to repeat dungeon after few wipes.
Of course, you can say you can watch videos, learn, be good etc – YES, you can learn it, but the way this boss was working was simply wrong.
And no I wouldnt say they will remove an other path from the game, as none other path/ boss fight in the game is broken in a way it needs a serious fix.
Why do you defend broken dungeon? Cause you can’t laugh at nabs anymore?
Send me an invite. Will be more than happy to help with my thief. not zerker gear, full exotic.
can do whatever you need.
Greetings,
I am posting here to help my brother. He has his own GW2 account, but since he stopped playing long ago, he forgot both password to his account and his characters names.
He contacted support by writing “Ask a question” ticket (reference number 130908-001660) and in response he got link to the page where he could set a new password.
The problem is that even though he tried typing different passwords many times, using different internet browsers – he still got the same error message : We weren’t able to change your password. Try following the link from your e-mail again.
Because of that, few days ago he posted another ticket describing his issue, but got no response so far.
I would really appreciate any help, as it would be really nice to start playing together.
With regards,
Artemis
It was too easy! Tribulation Mode complete!

You said at the start that tribulation mode is EASY. The fact that you need infinite coin said that you died probably 100+ times. Dying 100 times doesn’t look like easy content. At least not for you.
I think you do not understand the whole idea of tribulation mode. It IS about dying. Dying to know where the traps are, to find a correct path. Dying in TM is NOTHING BAD, and number of deaths doesn’t show the level of difficulty in this case. It shows only that someone managed to figure it out faster etc.
However, TM is not easy – not because of many deaths included, but because of tough jumps.

Difficulty have no meaning if you have a lot of free time and no penalty. Anyone can do it if they don’t mind dying a few hundred or thousand time and can spare 30 to 40 hours doing it over and over again.
Wrong.
Difficulty still has a meaning, as even lots of time and determination won’t make you magically complete TM if you lack jumping skills and appropriate eye-hand coordination. You can watch guides, you can buy infinite coins, try 100000 times, but if you can’t jump (or can’t manage to learn to jump) that well, you will still lose. THAT’s why people who completed this have skill.
It is the same with any sport. How many people play tennis / football etc on the world?
Tons of people.
How many of them takes it seriously, want to be best in it, try hardest as they can to achieve it?
Much less, but still many.
How many of them actually make it and are proffesional, world best etc?
Only a handful of them.
Pure time and determination are not enough to succeed. SURE, there are people who WILL do it because of many many attempts, memorizing and improving in jumping, but there will be plenty of people who even with their preserverance – will fail. Same as many sportsmans won’t become champions even they tried so hard.
Why are people so kitten ed at the Trib nerf?

I don’t get why people keep saying that TM does not requires skill / is not difficult.
Yes, it is trial and error so after hundreds of deadths you will exactly know where the traps / bad stuff is.
However, EVEN with video guide andknowing the right path it is still very difficult to finish.
Why?
Because “safe” paths are almost always the hardest paths to take. The longest jumps that require practice and good reflex, each wrong move while fighting with mob may get you knocked down on traps, unforgiving mistakes (pretty much always when you screw, you die).
So yea, apart from determination, nerves of steel and time, it also requires skill in jumping. I am sure that if person isn’t VERY good at jumping in this game, he/she wouldn’t manage to finish Tribulation Mode.
Regarding dodgejump thing – I have done ALL jumps (apart from W2Z3 – haven’t done it yet) without using that technique so saying that it is mandatory in every zone in world 2 is simply not true.
Stop disregarding TM and describing it as just time consuming tiral and error thingie because without excelent jumping skills no one can complete it.

Hello,
I managed to complete tribulation mode zone 1 in world 1. However, I did not manage to pick up the loot from the chest (including one part for special weapon skin) as I was busy collecting all baubles that popped after destroying the cage. Timer just ran out, and I was ported to next zone.
So I went to zone 1 again, done it from the beginning, but I could not open the chest, only baubbles appeared. Chest was open and I could not click on it.
My question is – how can I obtain rewards from tribulation mode zone 1 world 1 chest now?
Done it as a thief, took me like 80 attempts.
Weapons: Pistol / dagger
Traits: 20 / 0 / 30 / 20/ 0
You can see my utilities on the screenshot. Basically my gear was mostly precision / crit damage, but for the purpose of this fight, I used poison utility + condition damage / duration food.
Best part of it was that during the fight I was sure that I had thrown only 7 orbs, so I kept Liadri at like 2% and was running after another one.
However, when I ve seen that npc starts to count 5,4,3 etc I thought that it is still better to kill her than to fall down and I shot her at LITERALLY ONE … and – BAM ACHIEV
