“Fair” is a relative term, I think the word you are looking for is “easier”. Some people may get lucky in the 20s and 30s and get weapons, but the drop percentage is still low. A 20% drop chance at 48 is not bad, and after 15 dailies you would likely have 3 weapons. Now exchanging the three you earned for one you want is a “fair” trade that will still result in a good amount of effort. A ticket would work too, but the drop rate will have to be lower than the current 20%.
I’m not saying this because I have dozens of weapons, I have 4 (2 sta kitten and 2 maces), only one of which has come from a 48 run. I think the difficult to get weapons should remain, but after you get a few weapons you should be able to get one you actually want.
3 weapons plus an identifier for the weapon you want is best. Proves you were either lucky, or grinded out your first 10 weapons and exchanged them for your favorites. The probability of getting the weapom you want from a single 48 run is 20%/12 (1.6%). If they did anything to change this percent you would upset all of the people that put in the effort to get the weapons. Yes, it’s a grind, but it’s for a weapon skim. If you don’t have time or interest, then find another skin you can get more easily. You do not need it to play the game.
Getting three weapons takes a bit of effort, but has a pretty low probability as well. The 3 weapon combination maintains that same probability of getting the weapon you want but allows you to get atleast one you like (eventually). It also provides people with greater motivation to climb to level 48.
Regular relics, ectos, and pristine relics are too easy to get in large quantities, especially as low level runs are very quick and reward a pristine after level 10.
I’ve been running FOTM 48 for a few months now and I feel like there may have been a change to the drop rate around when they fixed a few bugs for the Southsun update.
Prior to the changes, my party often received any number of weapons from the daily chest, the normal RNG kind of thing.
The last few weeks, every run I have had, one person always gets a weapon, and one or two rings are dropped. Has anyone else had a party get more than one weapon in a run since the Southsun update? I feel like they may have made it so only one person per group gets one (still 20%).
Just a few minutes ago I was booted from my FoTM group just prior to receiving my daily chest. My party had defeated the Jade Maw and I quickly looted the chest before going to revive two other players. As soon as the other two players were up, I got sent straight to Lion’s Arch and was no longer a member of a party. It is possible that some error occurred in our instance, but I suspect I was kicked so another player could be brought in.
The first thing I noticed though, was that all of my party chat history from the entire dungeon run was now gone and I was unable to find any of the player names to potentially take action against. Luckily, I was able to contact one of the party members as I had their name on my gw2lfg webpage. After contacting him, he also said he was booted to Lion’s Arch.
Is it possible to maintain party chat history even after being kicked/leaving a party?
