Hello everyone,
today I implemented an interface between the Telegram Bot API ( https://core.telegram.org/bots/api ) and the Guild Wars 2 transactions API ( https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/API:2/commerce/transactions ).
The result is a bot who keeps you informed about your trading post sales and purchases. You can simply add it in the Telegram app and link it with your account. Everytime you buy or sell and item on the trading post you will get an info message on your phone, tablet, PC or wherever your Telegram client is running on.
Getting started:
1. Add the bot by clicking on this link: http://telegram.me/GW2TransactionScoutBot
2. Create an API key at https://account.guildwars2.com/account/api-keys (important: enable tradingpost access!)
3. Register the key by sending “/setapikey XXXX-XXXX-…” to the bot
4. As last step send “/watchsales on” and “/watchpurchases on” when you want to receive messages for sales or purchases
Telegram:
You can obtain the Telegram Messenger via https://telegram.org/ or in the Google Play Store resp. Apple App Store.
IMPORTANT:
This is a very early and little tested version. Please report bugs in this thread or via email.
I am not sure how well the script will scale with the number of active users. Therefore I can not guarantee a smooth and/or persistent service.
PRIVACY:
The bot server backend will store your API key, the telegram chat id and the id of your last purchase/sale. You can delete all your data everytime by sending “/delete Please delete my account” to the bot.
