We of course understand that solo players would prefer a separate queue from premade teams, and it isn’t off the table as a future improvement. The trade off here, besides the extra development time, is that high rated solo queuers would get a better experience (never facing premades), at the expense of all team queuers getting a worse experience (longer queue times)
Excuse me? It isn’t “off the table”? You should be telling us that it’s on the table right now and work is being done on it. It is not just solo players that want their own queue, no self-respecting premade team wants to be matched against solo players either.
You are stunting the growth of the pvp scene if you have a system where the highest level of gameplay a solo player can attain is a place where you are endlessly stomped back down by the weakest of premades. New players want to know they can come and pvp without being constrained by the effort of finding 4 like-minded friends, yet still be recognised and rewarded if they get to the top (which is one of the main reasons that we need to SEE our rating, and not simply hope that your obscure matchmaking system is working correctly; I would be amazed if anyone has that level of faith in the game right now).
As for your remark about the trade-off between “happier solo queuers” and “longer queue times”, surely you cannot be serious? Would you rather wait 10 minutes for a satisfying meal or be instantly served a steaming kitten on a plate? (I sugar-coated that as much as possible).
