Guild Wars 2

Hi all,

I’m looking for gear suggestions for general PvE (open world, event farming, world bosses, map completion) and possibly some small scale WvW roaming on the side. Keep in mind I prefer power builds, and I generally run LB/GS.

(Please note that I already have a full set of Berserker gear that I use in dungeons)

Any suggestions are appreciated!

Thank you for the guide Poe! What do you recommend for runes/sigils since the feature patch? I was thinking Scholar runes and Force/?? in the Rifle.

In terms of dungeons/PvE, what’s everyone using for sigils on their weapons?

Mesmer – DPS/Phantasm/Reflection (20/20/0/30/0)
Guardian – Sword/Focus DPS (10/30/0/10/20)
Armor: Both have full exotic Berserker sets (And partial exotic Soldier sets)
Experience: Arah 1/2/3
Server: NA – Isle of Janthir
Available: Almost every day between 6:00 PM and 11:00 PM EST
Other: Up for any path in Arah or any other dungeon. I have other level 80s that can be used too (Ranger, Elementalist, Warrior)

Thanks my friend. From my experience this Build i present here is the Best Phantasm Build. Cannot spend 25 points in Illusions on a Phantasm Build! If you like to try Shatter Builds the best place to look is Osicats Guide: http://osicat.weebly.com/guide.html

Thanks for the response. I am definitely looking for a Phantasm build, I just wasn’t sure if it was worth going that far down the Illusion tree for IC . Looking at it again I agree with you that it wouldn’t be worth it for this Phantasm Build because you would have to give up a lot in the Domination and/or Dueling trees . I guess I will just have to learn to live without IC!

Thanks for the update Skoteinos! I haven’t tried your new build yet, but I will when I get home later today. Do you think something like 10/10/0/25/25 or 0/20/0/25/25 is a viable alternative to your build, or is that giving up too much just to get IC?

Well, you are talking about Ascended. Unlike in sPvP where Celestial has the same +crit damage as Berserker, in PvE/WvW the “celestial” ascended amulets have only +6 crit damage to berserker/cavalier’s +9.

So when it comes to Ascended it’s always best value to pick either Cavalier or berserker gear.

Thanks for the explanation! I never even considered Cavalier before. The added toughness in Cavalier might be a worthwhile trade off. Do you use Cavalier in a PvE setting regularly?

I just hit 80 on my Mesmer today and I am trying to decide what ascended amulet to get her. After looking around the forums and reading some popular builds it seems like Berserker is the most popular choice right now, but I am also curious about the Celestial amulet as well. I’m looking for opinions on which is the best choice before I run out and spend 30 laurels. Please note that my Mesmer will mainly be for PvE/Dungeons/low level Fractals. At the moment my plan is to run a pretty standard S/F + GS build with Berseker armor.
