Thanks to all of you for your answers, I’ve learned quite a lot about the group system!

Concerning the issue I had against a fully team, yesterday I got matched against my own clan and it was very late in the night and as far as I remember when I faced a fully team it was between 3 to 6 am, so that’s maybe why? JDjitsu.7895 Hes also maybe right because it’s not the first time I’m in a game with people from the same clan but in different teams or in the same.

I’ve yesterday started playing with1 of the guildies I found in ranked after that game and we got a 9 win streak with him I was so happy because it’s usually 2 defeats and 1 win lol.

I’m really interested in joining a PvP guild, if anyone here knows one that is recruiting I will definetely try to prove myself doing games with them before I enter, I will check the guild recruitment section in the forum and I hope I get lucky and found one!

Ranked had 5 man teams between season 5 and 6. However since season 5, the ranked only let’s you team with one partner during the season. I assume since you have 200 hours in you are at least level 20 in pvp and aren’t confusing ranked and unranked arenas.

It only happened to me in Ranked, I’ve never got matched against a full team in unranked.

It was maybe in one of those seasons I guess, but still about 2 days ago 3 players had the same guild tag and they were on the same team so I still don’t get it.

I’ve never tried to play with a group so I don’t really know the limitations sorry about that, I should have explained that as well haha.

Ranked PvP is the worst one I’ve ever seen since I started PvP in videogames and I’m not joking, so basically Ranked PvP allows you to have a 5 man team coordinated in Teamspeak against a full team of solo players,

I also see a lot of elitism, I get insulted because I don’t have glowing skins or because my achievements are extremely low due to the fact that I don’t do PvE but when the games scoreboard shows at the end I was doing it x5 times better than those people so I really don’t get the point of “Let’s blame the guy without skins even if at the end he get 6 top medals” I even ask them for 1v1 and they refuse while they keep saying that I’m a noob and that I should learn to play after they saw me win a 1v2 against a DH and a Thief.

Your first part about the 5 man team on TS is incorrect, in ranked you can only Duo Q, so unless the opposite team got extremely lucky and managed 2 x duo q’s from the same guild, then you did not have them on TS, but match making has been an issue, and chances are if you are new to PvP then yes you may have had an unfavourable match up,

The second part about being abused because of skins, I have never seen this in any match ive played ever, so im not sure if you just got some random nasty players or not, as for the Achievement Points, people do look at them, but given that players also roll new accounts to play PvP with, I wouldn’t let that get to you.

As for build variety, in unranked you will see a lot more build variety as people try different things, in ranked not so much, as people tend to run 1 or 2 builds for each class, and only change the build depending on who they are facing.

Im curious do you play on NA or EU, because apparently there is a world of difference between the two.

I guess there’s a way to get matched with a full team because I’ve faced teams of 5 players with the same Guild name and that’s why I said that, but not 1 or 2 times, many times i’ve been playing against a full team from the same guild, especially one called SoTf or something like that.

You maybe never experienced this because you were here from the beginning of the game but trust me, the elitism is extremely high, I get called out a looooooot because I don’t have glowing skins they always call me noob or they try to force me to “go pve you noob” I try to provide my complete and honest feedback so trust me that those issues didn’t happened me 1 or 2 times, but a lot of times.

I’ve been playing mostly ranked and I see people using different builds, besides necro and elem that are always the same the rest of the classes have a lot of different builds, per example I’ve seen DH playing LB/GS, Scepter/Torch, LB/SD, ect… I’m used to games like ESO where if you dont run a specific type of armor you won’t even be able to kill 1 player so for me a game with 4 metas per class is extremely high and I’m in love about the diversity of builds in this game.

Would you recommend me a better way of enjoying Ranked PvP? Maybe find a very good friend? If you say that you can only queue with 2 players it changes a lot for me because I always tho you were able to join with a full team because of what I’ve experienced.

I’ve recently started playing this game, I consider myself someone who hate PvE I’m a complete PK in any games I play and I was fascinated by Guild Wars because it’s a game with a PvP that doesn’t require any PvE grind, you just go there and choose your runes, sigils and amulet and you can be compet in PvP.

There’s a lot of variety in builds, most games I’ve played have very strong meta builds when everyone play the same, there’s few meta builds in this game but everyone can just play with everything they want and still be compet and that’s something amazing about this game.

PvP is good, not very balanced some classes outperforms completely the rest (Elementalist, Dragonhunter, Necro and Thief) but after years of playing PvP games I’ve never seen any game balanced and I believe it’s impossible to balance a game that have PvP so I don’t complain about that.

The community, at the beginning when I started now I have 400 hours (ONLY in PvP) but I still consider myself new until I hit the 2K hours in PvP I tho players with awesome weapons were veteran players that were good or everyone with a PvP title was good or atleast decent but that’s not the case, EVERY single game I do I end up with the 60-90% of the best stats in the game and I don’t think it’s normal that a new player can get top stats every single game (Ranked also) since the first game he played in PvP while people with 3 years into this game still don’t know how to capture a point, people still don’t understand that to win a game they need to also capture points, sometimes I have to face 4 players while I defend a point waiting for my team to maybe come and save me but what is my team actually doing? Trying to break their doors on a game that we are loosing or just going solo and getting destroyed by a full team, but that’s not their fault, the lack of tutorial to explain people how to play PvP is what is ruinning the community, I’m lucky that I have experience in those type of games and I know what to do but some people don’t and that’s something they should fix to help people get more involved into PvP.

I was thinking about maybe trying to join a good PvP guild but I forgot that if the elitism is that strong I don’t think I will ever be able to join a decent PvP guild because I don’t have glowing skins, glowing wings and 20k achievements.

So, I will still play this game because even if ranked is a complete kitten if you’re a solo player the unranked one is very funny, you can get matched against good players and you can have very good 1v1s there, the elitism is not that strong because I guess there’s more casuals there, I also find the PvP pretty unique like I said above because there’s a loooooooot of build variety and that’s something that aNet can be proud of it, I will probably get bored of the game if I can’t play ranked because I don’t have a team but I will still play it until I get bored.
