There are SO many posts about this, but why? The game isn’t designed to make changing out your weapon sets easy. You happen to be playing one of the two classes who can’t swap weapons, but also of those two classes have twice as many power sets as any of the classes that can. So why exactly should they give you even more, out of combat or otherwise?
They have the idea of play your way, but that means within the bounds of the mechanics available to you. If you want to play outside of those bounds it should involve extra effort and hassle.
So, your argument is basically an appeal to the status quo? The game currently works one way, therefore that is the BEST way possible and should never be changed?
Letting an elementalist (or engineer, for that matter) swap weapons outside of combat isn’t going to break the game — it will just let us accomplish a basic function with the same ease that all over classes enjoy. As has been pointed out, we can do that ANYWAY — why not just let it be done with a simple button press?
If ArenaNet intended for weapon-swapping to be discouraged or disallowed, then they could have made us go to a Profession Trainer to change weapons. Instead, it IS allowed, but made a little awkward for no practical/mechanical reason.
I agree with you and i suggested the same thing a couple of weeks ago. But i think the biggest problem is that a lot of people can’t stand the idea that the Engineer’s and Elementalist’s are getting something and the other professions aren’t. I still hope to get these two “extra” inventory slots and i still can’t see why i would be game breaking.

You have an out of combat weapon swap already. Just like every class in the game that wants more weapons than they can hold. It’s called keeping extra weapons in your inventory and activating them while not in combat.
See, everyone is still on equal footing.
No need to be condescending, i know how the inventory works, i’m making a suggestion and you can like or not. It’s pretty clear from the answers so far that my suggestion is game breaking for a lot of peolpe. So we’ll leave it at that.
I see your point and i agree that some people would complain. But i really see it as a way to easier store an extra set of weapons and i even though you’re probably right in your assumption i would hope that it wouldn’t be a big deal.
That may be true, but i don’t see the argument. My argument would be that it would make the Engineer more fun to play and as far as i can see it dosen’t take anything away from the other professions. It’s not like a Guardian is less fun to play because an Engineer has an extra weapon set.
I know they are flexible, but as i said i shouldn’t be a weapon set you can switch in battle, only out of battle. So instead of having extra weapons in the backpack you could have them in an extra weapon set like the other professions.
I remember ANet talking about this after the game launched, but i haven’t seen anything about it since then. My suggestion is a second weapon set for Elementalist and Engineer just like the other professions. But the Elementalist and Engineer shouldn’t be able to change the weapon in battle like the other professions.
Maybe you’re right, but you could also say that you bring people together by announcing the events, i’m not sure it’s more social to write it than to click it. But i guess it could go eihter way.
I would love to be able to announce an event in map chat by, for example, shift-clicking the event in the right corner of the screen.
I agree, please bring preview back.
I completely agree, as it is now it seems as weather is tied to events. I would love to see the weather changing in the zones. A little rain in Queensdale (for example) would be great.
I agree, this is a great idea. ANet talked about implementing it after one of the betas, so we can hope it’s in the works.
