The unreliable AI on Necromancer minions is just one reason (although the number 1 reason) why I don’t run them on my Necro main. They seemed fine during Beta but shortly after release they seem to have gotten dumber. Not attacking when they should be, running half way across the map to pull enemies I’m not in combat with, etc, etc. For me, minions are a temporary utility I use when I need a distraction. That’s all.
This is STILL bugged on Northern Shiverpeaks server. I have never been able to begin or finish or do anything in-between for this event.
Most of the Displaced Spirits seem to be down from the trees though. So that’s progress, right?
On a side note, the entire zone seems to have one event after another bugged out. For example, I played in the southern area for nearly 2 hours without a single working event.

TLTR: Dodge bugs for me on auto-attacks too.
The “dodge fail” happens to me as well, and it happens on nearly every single character I play (Elementalist seems to be safe from this issue). I have one of each profession (Human Necromancer, Human Ranger, Norn Thief, Norn Warrior, Norn Mesmer, Sylvari Guardian, Sylvari Elementalist, and a Charr Engineer. Oh and an Asura Warrior because I can). Melee or ranged, it doesn’t matter. It seems to happen during the auto-attack like most everyone else here.
Here’s what happens to me… When I dodge (no double-tap, just keybound) at the wrong time (the wrong time being during the auto-attack sequence), I will just “dodge” in place. It looks the same as if you tried to backward dodge roll with your back against a wall (although it doesn’t happen on JUST the backwards dodges). My character goes nowhere even though the animation is playing. So of course if you dodge roll and don’t go anywhere, the thing you’re trying to avoid WILL hit you. And sometimes that spell/ability that’s being tossed at you can hurt. A lot.
Might it be a terrain issue? Possibly. The area I’m trying to dodge around in sure looks flat to me and I’m not running into anything otherwise, but it sure seems as though there’s an obstacle there when I try to dodge. (Do mobs have the ability to put up invisible, dodge-proof walls around you? =P) But it does seem to happen only when I’m in the middle of an auto-attack sequence.
Affected professions & the weapons affected (underwater weapons not tested):
Elementalist: None that I’ve noticed
Warrior: Greatsword, Hammer, Axe, Mace, Sword
Ranger: Greatsword, Sword
Necromancer: Dagger, Scepter
Guardian: Greatsword, Hammer, Mace, Sword
Thief: Dagger, Sword
Engineer: Toolkit? (Not fully tested)
Mesmer: Scepter, Sword
Apparently I am also one of the thousands who have been disenfranchised by this bug. I wasn’t even aware it existed until I read this thread today (11/13/12).
I have been a loyal member of the Sanctum of Rall server since Headstart day 1. I have never transferred off of SoR. I have never been hacked and I have had no account issues what-so-ever. I play WvW daily with my guild members.
Not once have I ever received any WvW server bonus. I have never been able to harvest or gather resources from a resource node more than once (NOT including Rich Ore Veins).
I can mouse over the WvW Icon at the top of the screen and nothing shows up for bonuses. All I get is a tooltip that states World Vs World [B].
Frankly, this is disturbing. If this actually the case and I along with thousands of others, if not more, are NOT in fact getting these bonuses, this is a Priority One issue that needs to be fixed immediately.
The bonuses from WvW represent a significant amount of cash in game. From crafting bonuses to a Health Increase. From gathering bonuses to to increased cash drop from monsters. ALL of the bonuses can be related to cash LOST in game for not having them available. Take into account that these bonuses may not have been available since the launch of the game and any number of players could be out hundreds of gold.
I urge Anet to look into this issue immediately and let the player-base know whats going on and when the issue will be fixed.
At this point, there could be many hundreds of thousands of players affected by this bug.
Let me add my voice to this. In fact, use all the exact same words and only replace “Sanctum of Rall” with “Northern Shiverpeaks”. Yes, yes, and yes, and omgwtf?!
That’s funny. I get that exact same glitch just by putting on the pants. I can have the other slots all filled by items from different sets but as soon as I put those leggings on I get the ‘cut in half’ glitch.
Add another one to the list of people affected by the “sound bug”. There’s 3 types of sound issues I seem to be encountering.
1. The “burst of noise” : Most of the time I get the occasional ‘burst of noise’ just running around. Doesn’t matter if I’m the only one in the vicinity or if I’m in a large group. If I have the speakers on it’s not that big of a deal, however I often have Team Speak up so that I can talk to my friends. Which requires a headset. Imagine a extremely loud burst of sound assaulting your ears with a headset on. Not pleasant! And often painful to boot.
2. “Oh God the Pets!” noise : I play a necro as my main. There are several reasons why I do not play with pets. One of which is the fact that often when a pet is summoned I get the noises the pet makes (footfalls & such) coming out extremely loud. So loud that I cannot hear other game noise or understand other people when they talk in Team Speak. (Sadly I cannot live with out the Reanimator skill that summons a Jagged Horror because I adore the Greater Marks major talent, but that is my only “pet”.) It will also occasionally happen with other people summoning their pets. Not much I can do about that.
3. “Woo-woo me to death. Literally.” : The game killer. The extremely loud “woo-woo” tone that many people seem to be experiencing. Seems to happen in large “zerg”-type events. A large group of people (somewhere in the vicinity of 25 to 30 or more) all using abilities that make sound will overload something in the game & cause that ‘woo-woo’ noise. The only way to fix it is to restart the game. This particular ‘bug’ will often freeze the game totally. The only way to fix that then is to Ctrl+Alt+Del, bring up the Task Manager, & close out the ‘not responding’ game. A new thing happened today though (which prompted my posting here). After the first woo-woo & freeze, I tried to get back into the game before the event was finished (Jormag event if anyone’s interested) only to have the woo-woo noise return, freeze my game, AND lock up my computer.
TLTR: Sorry for the long post but long story short… Loud random bursts of noise, loud pet noises, and the loud ‘woo-woo’ tone that can crash/freeze the game &/or computer.
Don’t know the cause. Don’t know the solution. Tried drivers. Tried settings. DO NOT have these issues in any other game. DO NOT have these issues with any other type of audio/video source. These issues are Guild Wars 2 specific.
I love GW2. Devs, please fix this. My ears & my sanity will thank you.
