No — it evades every incoming attack over its duration, just like a dodge roll.
I’ve been using double axe nonstop since pre-release, and this has absolutely not been my experience. I’ve had my whirlwind attacks interrupted by stuns and knockdowns on a consistent basis. They have not been evaded.
Either it’s not evading literally every attack, or its window is extremely small compared to the overall length of the cast. Or maybe it’s bugged.
I think he’s referring to to gs ability. Not the axe ability cyclone
Warriors don’t have much in the way of defensive cooldowns at low level, so we seem to be a bit squishy. It looks like you are using a squishy build on top of that. Also, while the GS does a lot of damage, you’re going to get pounded on if you use HB too much.
Warriors in this game really need to stay mobile more than just about any profession. Use your mobility skills and circle-strafe in any encounter where you might take heavy damage. A majority of Veteran mobs will root just before they use their big ability and you can simply get behind them and pop HB.
Also, you probably want to choose a second weapon set with some Cc or range. Rifle is good for example because it has a cripple, a KB and a daze/blind whatever. Great to swap to if you get in trouble.
If you sit down and try to have a dps race with a vet or 2-3 mobs, you’re gonna die quite a bit unless you’re geared-out or outlevel them.
On the story line where you fight waves of mobs on the beach until a swarm of aboms comes out, I jumped in with my shiney new racial axes and quickly got owned. And owned. And. Owned.
I got owned for a long time, and no matter what I tried, I’d aggro the whole group of them. I gave up. The next day I went in and equipped my cr#ppy blue longow that was 10 levels obsolete and burned down the lot of them on the first try while eating a bowl of cereal. Sometimes re-thinking your strat makes all the difference.
Hey, everyone! Look it is this thread again.
Every MMO has one. People zoom to the top level by playing incessantly and bolting down coffee and Red Bull.
Just sayin’
You really don’t have to play “incessantly” to reach the end on this game quickly. I barely play the game and i’m already nearly halfway through it – and friends of mine are already capped level or nearly capped level.
It’s a myth you have to play this game a lot to reach cap level already. You don’t. The game is very short.
Its true, if all you do is zerg de’s you’ll max pretty quickly. Personally I think I’d find this game pretty boring if I spent my leveling experience running from DE to DE with 20 other people, overwhelming the content.
Skyrim is also a very short game if all you do is the main questline. What I’ve found with this game is that you get out what you put in. If you’re interested in getting to the end, you’re right it can be done in short order.
Ugh this topic ad nauseum. If you are level 80 and have all the gear then you’ve spent hundreds of hours in the game. Even if you aren’t interested in the tons of other content you could be doing, consider your money well spent and move on.
At level 80 you can: finish the map, do all the dungeons/modes (32 I think), spvp, WvWvW, level all the crafts, level alts, do jumping puzzles, do achievements, collect skins, etc, etc, etc. So by “end game content” what you really mean is “raids”. luckily for you, a game that has a lot of that happens to have an expansion just around the corner. = P
