Try putting -image in the shortcuts properties target.

I was having issues with the launcher crashing with the same c0000417 exception and it’s downloading now without crashing.

The target should look something like this:

“D:\Games\Guild Wars 2\Gw2.exe” -image

Hopefully this helps.

I can’t believe it, but that worked. What does -image do, do you know? Thank you so much for the reply. Wish the game wasn’t so kitten buggy.

I’ve been trying to fix this problem for 9 friggin MONTHS.
I’ve looked EVERYWHERE online, I’ve tried EVERYTHING, firewalls, dns, repair, reinstall, updating computer/drives….

I can’t do it anymore.

It updates a little, then crashes, I open it to update a little more… then it crashes again. And don’t even get me started on how many hours it’s been taking me to reinstall the stupid thing.

I’ve posted before, with no response/help. I stopped playing the game for MONTHS because I couldn’t stand it.

I moved recently, and have already tried switching to google dns servers and flushing dns and re-installing, changing folders to install to.

The problem is that the game downloads/updates… and then just crashes. And I re-open and it downloads a little more before crashing again, and it keeps doing this.

Not sure what to do.

I stopped playing GW2 some time in november of last year, and started up again in january this year. but now, suddenly, the game constantly crashes my computer! no other game does this, and this never happened before.

As everybody knows, this game sucks the life out of cpu. When playing GW2, mine is between 60 and 100, depending on the event. My graphic settings are turned all the way down. The temp of my gpu is around 55C and, everything else dances between 55-60C. All of my drivers are up to date, and I have tried unparking my cpu, as well as parking it at low %’s to see what would happen.

Why, after 2 months, would my computer suddenly decide to crash when I play GW2? This problem has made the game unenjoyable and nearly unplayable for me. I’m frustrated.
