I just went through this with several fails and stalls at different markers of the quest.

You will need to drop the quest, choose another story and go back to it. Then it will say you have to work on mastery for the poison thing. Then you port to LA and back and it should be reset. From then on you just cant be in a group or near anyone else doing the quest when they click the objective. As soon as someone else clicks the objective it will freeze yours out and you wont be able to interact with the items to progress. It’s a pain in the butt especially when getting to the final mark and failing. Hope this helps you get past this.

I’m fairly shocked that there is still no response to this.

I play mostly mesmer, and it’s super annoying. I have recently just removed the skill from my bar completely. It wastes precious time to get out of a mechanic or avoid death because it never works when it’s important.

I understand the need for a change in how it worked previously, but I would hope anet will look into this problem as it’s definitely not working correctly now.
