Having the exact same issue. Apparently some people have managed to fix this by running the repair (I personally haven’t been able to) but it may be worth a shot if you haven’t tried already

I can’t offer much help, but just know you’re not alone, I’m having the same issue trying to update. All I can say is try launching the repair and see if that works. Good luck!

I have been playing Guild Wars 2 for well over a year now with zero complaints. However, since today, my client switched to the 64-bit version and now will not install. Upon running the launcher, the game will begin downloading like normal, but upon reaching half way to the “playable” mark, the launcher will freeze and become unresponsive forcing me to close it. On a rare occasion it will continue to reaching the “playable” mark, then will stop and pop up with an error message “A serious error has occurred that prevents the program from continuing to run” I have run the repair at least three times and reinstalled the game entirely at least five times to no avail. I have restarted my computer, modem, and anything that could be causing this issue. I’ve also tried changing the location of where the game is installed, renaming the launcher, deleting the local data, but I can’t seem to find a solution. I have included an image of the problem and sent the error report as well. Any help at all is appreciated.
