I played yesterday with my main (GS Guardian, of course) and… shock! First and foremost – I had a very hard time getting used to the new button layout, ‘cause my fingers already had the whole combo memorized :/ A pain in the behind, really. Especially if they don’t allow us to change the button setup (which is fine by me), but now it makes no sense when they mix it up so bad I don’t know what’s what
Second, I hate what they did with SoW. I specced my guardian for GS and symbols and now both these specs have been nerfed and practically cut in half. I swallowed the bitter pill of having a favourite class that has the least base health of all the classes (warrior has all he needs, sure, I get it – we need an OP class afterall). But now they take away the most fun I had with it by slashing and cutting away the best weapon that the class was using…
Sucks. This just sucks
I’ve fallen in love with the greatsword. Because of that weapon I’ve decided to spec my Guardian into more of a DPS (burning/blinding/vulnerability + 10% more dmg, etc.). I love running around with that huge claymore-ish thingy
The same as the GS is great for dishing out damage all around my swap weapon set is mace+torch. The mace gives a bit of regen, healing and some defensive blocking, and the torch is a nice addition to keep the foes burning and also do quite some damage with the Flame Breathing (if manoeuvered right – you can also damage many foes). So I use GS for initial attacks (and the whole fight, if it looks like a quickie) and change to mace+torch for a bit of healing and defense, before switching back to GS for some finishing touches
When I get to lvl 80 (lvl68 for now), I’ll probably check the WvWvW and maybe respec here or there for a more support role? Or go into a spirit weapon build? (with some traits these can dish out a nice damage output as well) There’s a couple nice things one can do with any of the classes… I’m all for discovering those
I’m thinking that if some charr live outside of Black Citadel (or even outside Ascalon and the lands ruled by the charr) then they tend to give up some of their “traditions”. I guess living in LA is just different – remember that it’s a city of pirates, marauders, anarchists and so on. Stands to reason the charr there wouldn’t care for the traditional “grooming” of their children.
