My problem with the gems is not so much with the price of the gems, but the spread (which is set up by arena) – it’s extremely wide. Bid price of 85s and ask of 65s – that’s a spread of 30%! Such spread is not possible in any “free” market because the traders would arbitrage the spread away and keep it at the minimum levels. High spread can be an indication of low volume of gems trades, but in my opinion arena deliberately set the spread at such levels to discourage any speculation (despite the fact speculation is good – because it kills any imperfection in the free market).

Also it’s not clear how oftern the new price is recalculated – are there any fixed moments (once a day) or is it instant? If it’s instant why the don’t see it then?

I don’t like the way gem/gold trade is now. In my opinion the better system is one price, but comission for exchange gems/gold. Another thing we are missing here is the volume figures. If arena is really transparent about the gem trades they should publish these figures too.

Recently someone tried to hack my account and I got one of these warning email from arena with IP adress leading to China. I was wondering why can’t arena permanently ban ANY login from chinese IP adress? (since the game is sold in US/EU etc. anyway).

I think that would filter out a big chunk of these hackers/gold farmers/phishers and relieve arena from all this stress to fight it…

I tried to follow you advice but it didn’t work. If I activate 3D I can’t start the game at all because I get that “useful” advice about DirectX 9.0 and latest drivers. If I switch it off and then activate while game is in the window nothing happens.

Somehow this NVIDIA stuff is not very robust. I can perfectly see the nice pics from NIVIDA showcase and their demo’s from a couple of the games – yay, it looks great, but the actual stuff doesn’t work…

Is it just me or anyone else finds it’s wierd how to play the game with a mouse in 3D? What I mean is the cursor jumps from the skill panel into prospective andback and I can’t target properly. Also the cursor is far too slow. Is there any way to adjust this?

Arena/nvidia promoted GW2 as a great 3D game a couple of years ago in Cologne, but it seems like the game is not optimized for 3D yet.

I had exactly same problem like you with my VG278H. by the way which driver did you download? Get the latest BETA drivers anyway, I think the one from late August.
Here is what I did:

1. Log in with no 3D and change video settings to FULL display high resolution and adjust to 120Hz.
2. Then log out and in NVIDIA setting panel change the setting – run 3D only in full screen.

That completely solved my problem and I was able to watch it in 3D.
