Well I did, until max level anyway.
Dear Devs,
I leave for this feedback on my GW2 departure, as with no sub to cancel there seems no way to leave any feedback as well.
I love GW2. The world, the classes, the gameplay, puzzles, graphics..all that was A grade material. So why have I quit playing?
The answer was easy for me. After bringing 2 characters to 80 and having no PVP interest I found there was no progression (and by this I mean horizontal) for me that felt worthwhile. Why? You failed to understand something important.
I am a soloer, yet I enjoy playing in a live world. I want something to work on. Dungeons are my favorite thing to do yet you didn’t scale them to solo play. Shame on you. I would have accepted 24 hr lock out timers to keep group play stable yet still give me something to do other than farm Karma. That simply wasn’t enough. You should have known that. You can lead a horse to water but you cannot make it drink.
As a game that may have evolutionarily changed MMOs you stuck to an old (and maybe you thought tried and true formula) mechanic and one that I simply won’t support any more. You cannot force me to be a grouper. I will be a grouper on my own terms or not at all. If you don’t give me as a soloer enough to do I will find a game that does.
See ya at the 1 time events and any free content expansions but that’s it as far as I can tell until you make this much needed change IMHO. Adios.
TLDR: No solo scalability on dungeons was a fail. Lock-out timers for control would have sufficed. Not enough to do as a non PVP soloer in GW2.
If casinos had forums then it would be full of people complaining how much they lost too.
A lot of you probably spent gold (not $) to buy gems on the 1st day and 1st hour, why? In order to hopefully get a ton of these skins in order to sell them (beta testers often realize drops are nerfed LATER after things have been exploited by THEM) and make a ton more gold then you spent while the supply was low on the trading post.
Now you cry on here pretending you actually spent real $..
Instead you have the opposite..drops were less than you expected. You lost in your gamble. I don’t feel bad for you at all. A sure thing investment it was never.
Then of course, there are the naive and impulsive…I do feel sorry for you lack of self-control, but people lose gambling every day. Nobody wants to hear about how someone spends $20 on the lotto every week and never wins either. It’s your own fault.
What they need is a wardrobe system where you save your look to the wardrobe so you can pull it out later. Should generate a good amount of revenue too just to buy it and expand the slots (think LOTRO).
Worst part of the game an ruins the game a little bit for me.
I prefer mounts. They’ll never get rid of the system though, it is for the majority.
There should be a SOLO path on each dungeon with lock out timers so it cannot be farmed by gold farmers . 48 hrs would be fine IMO.
Why should exclusive soloers who played the entire game to this point solo be left out?
Look at DDO..this game is almost 90% dungeon crawl which can be done solo. So don’t tell me it can’t be done.
Maybe that’s called smarter AI, ever thought of that?
