There are also examples for people, joining WvW to grind for their legi and got caught by it, now playing more WvW than PvE.
But away from that, I can tell that the blob wars became much more worse, since the linking was paired with the return of the old borders, which made some guilds change their playstyle, since seaky actions are quite difficult to perform. But nethertheless the WvW is the gamemode, making a difference between GW and other mmo’s. This small scale arena battle is something you have on any of them. Furthermore the point of joining a zerg is not just the “press 1 and win” purpose, since we are outnumbered 85% of the day ^^ , but also the ppl on the teamspeak and the fun you have, talking to them. This resulted into some gvg player of a “high level gvg guild” to spend their “holidays” on the lowest rank server in Europe.
Wouldn’t it be the easiest way to change resistance into the same effect as aegis, with the difference that it’s about to block one condition, maybe for 3sec or something after it popped to offer a proper counter for e.g. shadder mesmer and their tons of confusion?

Maybe a possible solution would be kind of a stationary u-buff in the area of keeps, which only allows to use the tactics while u are fewer ppl than the attacking force
To be honest, big nerves on the fighting tactics (those being mentioned above) would be very bad for the smaller zerg because those tactics give the possibility to fight larger groups without being screwed right at the beginning (this is especially related to the chilling fog). About the cloaking water: a limitation of the cloaking to a certain amount of people would be great.
Random matchups o.O
According to our luck, Abaddon greets Kodash and Pinken Square as our next enemies, if that would happen ^^
I like the changes, even as a backliner(necro). Not that our frontline, if we have one, is able to leap in without sticking on one of the many guardian walls, but also i’m able to follow up without stabi, due to the fact that cc-walls disappear after having effected 10 people. Furthermore I’m finally able to use my escape spell (plaque) to escape and not being pushed around because the 3 stacks lasted for 0.2 sec when the enemy had the possibility to cast cc in you.
The only negativ aspect is that the protection the frontlibe recieved from the spectral wall is also reduced to 10, woth the wall instantly disappearing after that. I would prefer it, if the limit is only depending on the ammount of enemies being feared away or having lost one stack of stabi (e.g. the veil of mesmers was untouched and is still able to cloak a very large ammount of people)
The more disappointinh thing for non-HoT player is that they can’t buy the mobike supplier, that should be changed. And honestly, you are complaining about missing autoloot? How lazy are you?! Just spam the loot key and you are fine as you always did before HoT and before the last patch tool place ^^
Don’t forget the root right in front of the stairs of the south-west tower :P
Come to Abaddon, we have no queues at all
Abaddon wasn’t complaining about the patch. Actually we were looking for it, hoping to get more player on our maps, especially in the primetime. Considered links for german servers would have been Dzago with Miller and Aba with Drakkar. those would have been fine for us.
But what we are meeting are a rank 10 and a rank 11 server, linked with another one and we are (rank15) left alone. Aditionally i have to mention that right before that matchup, the times we have been matched with those serrvers they already had much more active wvw players than we have.
That’s why we are complaining, we hoped for more times, we can actually play on the maps, and get punished by being pushed into nightcapping, more and more
The update in general is really nice
P.S. any wvw guild that is tired of queues: feel free to join our server, we didn’t even have any on the reset night ^^
Here are some theoretical points:
pros:
-meeting new people
-more people on each map
-wvw is getting more interesting on the borders due to the fact that you are more likely to meet enemies
cons:
- small servers are being inoffically closed
- roaming gets way more difficult due to the fact that you are more likely to meet a zerg
- the linking system worked in many cases, exept of some matchups, espacially the abaddon matchup
About the aba matchup:
We are already used to play against worlds having a much higher ranks than us, e.g. playing vs Seafarer’s Rest and Gandara in week 5 or in the next week against Jade Sea and Piken Square. If we are playing vs an equal tier server, it’s often Dzagonur, where many of our guilds were going in the past six months, causing us to have some guilds on our homelands that are thinking that it’s their border. But whatever until this matchup we just thought, yes we are a bit unlucky if it comes to the matchups, but honestly it’s a bit very awkward what happened on this reset: Our ranks 15 server (unlinked) is playing vs Augury Rock rank 10 (linked with Fort Ranik) and Aurora Glade rank 11 (linked with Blacktide). even before those worlds were linked, both of them had much more players than we had. Furthermore i have no idea, which population values ArenaNet took, but those data seem to be a bit older, according to the fact that we just lost about 300 to 400 wvw players by guilds, transfering to other servers such as Elona or Dzagonur or Gandarra, causing us to have about 100-120 active wvw players left. Mentioning the additional fact that our server was never really strong in the prime time, we managed to get !1! queue, which size was 3 on one border. The EB commander switched over to the homelands after being overrunned by 80 man blobs while he himself has (for our server a big group) 40 people. The same took place on our homelands, causing many players, who just came in the wvw being curious about the beta and the changes that come with it, to quit out of wvw. Even some of the 100 players, being the hard core of Abaddon, quit with the words “see you in 3 months”. Others, who didn’t quit are just saying that they won’t play this for tzhe next 3 months.
Leading to my last statement: Why the heck seems ArenaNet to hate us, giving the server the last push over the edge by performing so bad in the linking of worlds, preventing us from getting out of our spawns at some time. Did they just use the current rating? The only reason why Aba hasn’t heavily dropped is that we are a nightcapping server, getting the point out of it. But to be honest there is no chance of this to get changed in the next months, if nothing changes, because the people, who are playing on prime time are getting stomped by groups, often at least twice the size of ours. In the german forum there was even a thread, considering some links between the worlds that would have fit (link: https://forum-de.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/wuv/Server-Paarungen-in-der-EU-Paarungs-Tipps/first#post495399).
Honestly ArenaNet, i hope there will be some changes coming up very very soon, or otherwise, you can at least see yourself as the ones, who had success in killing wvw on Abaddon’s Mouth -.-
