Well I’m here again to update my status. My account was banned for using the keyboard’s ability to run macros to avoid getting disconnected. Well I did make a formal complaint with bbb (dot) org in Texas where N.o C.are Soft is located. I had an operation for carpal tunnel and I explained this in my ticket but to no avail. This is a perfect example of a company getting kitteny and not giving ppl a chance to fix the errors that they may have committed. All they do is hide behind the TOS because they are banking on you buying the game again. For all of you that got banned for botting, just give it up and go get a game that you have to pay monthly for because don’t forget that you get what you pay for. SO if it’s free don’t expect anything back. I did get my money back but that was because I purchased the game through my visa and visa guarantees, so if you bought the game with a credit card then call your credit card company and tell them the company is no good and you need to get your money back. Most likely this post will get deleted but (N)o ©are Soft I hope you guys fail as a company and today wont be soon enough… Good Riddance…

I’m well and truly kittened (see what I did there) off – I have never used macros or bots programs and get this error that I’ve been banned. To top it off the support page is down so I can’t log a ticket!
I love that they are taking a hard stance on botting but kitten me, they need to learn about what is a real bot and what isn’t.
So angry that this has happened right before this month’s content update.
Is there a phone number we can call to sort this rubbish out?

Sorry Val but there is no phone number for Anet. There is a phone number for NCSoft office in Texas (parent company to ArenaNet) it is (512) 225-6359 All they will tell you is that “If you made a ticket then it’s in queue to be resolved soon.” I have been waiting for this to be resolved since 11/09/12. I have already filed a complaint with the better business bureau in Austin, Texas to get my money back. GW2 is a game for me, not a life style or anything that really matters. Simply put: If I cannot play the game then I must have a refund for the services not provided by the Terms of Use according to the obscene rules and regulations from this company. So go do your diligent duty and search for the b b b and file your complaint with an official agency and get your money back, then you can decide if you will spend it on a new account or buy a full tank of gas instead… I go with a carton of smokes myself, hence the smokes don’t band me wrongfully.

Ok update on my Banning! Called NCSoft and got a response… Not the kind I like but better than anything else: They said: “ArenaNet does not have a customer support number but let me have your ticket number that way we can see what the status is”… Came back to tell me that my ticket was in queue to be resolved shortly and they will notify me by email of the outcome. At least someone will look at my ticket and let me know is all I have to go on for now, but all in all ArenaNet what a Badtaste. No pun intended… BTW: You can google ncsoft and get their number in the countries that they operate. On another note: google bad taste bear and pick any that apply to ArenaNet.

I was just doing a jumping puzzle… How many bots do you see doing jumping puzzles? If I ever get my account back am I going to have to start avoiding those too? As well as events or anywhere there might be other people, random named or not? lol. The puzzles are my favorite thing about GW2 so that would really suck.

I just got " Your Guild Wars 2 Account has been terminated due to botting, extended unattended play, using macros, or similar behavior. Attempting to automate gameplay through any means or attempting to circumvent idle-time restrictions in any way is in violation of the User Agreement and Rules of Conduct. The account closure is permanent." Is this what others are seeing when they are wrongly terminated? I really wouldn’t even know how to bot if I tried. At the time I was doing my personal story so I dont even know how someone would report me. Any help or advice aside from submitting a ticket would be greatly appreciated.

yes: play something else or you’re going to be stuck with us stupids waiting for an answer for days now…

Ok now really people!… What kind of company in the year 2012 takes the luxury of banning, canceling customer’s accounts, no refunds and then hides behind vague and outrageous policies and doesn’t even give reasons why they just took your money. This company must be a credit card company? A bank? No, no, I got it, it’s a government agency, you know the kind that says on their wall: “YOU NEED US, we don’t need you!” Wrong again! See! I was wrong so many times, I deserve to have a fly-by-night outfit take my moneys hence I have so much to give indiscriminately to this type of company. Honestly the writing was on the walls and TOS’s and anything else they can use.

I am posting on behalf of my husband, whom I watch play Guild Wars 2. Upon realization of his terminated account we have done a bit of research.

Having your account wrongfully terminated, without being provided the opportunity to prove your legitimacy (such as a whisper or a sound to request if the person is real) is not only violating you as a consumer, but it is a violation of the contractual agreement made between you (the customer) and NCSOFT upon the purchase of the game. They cannot terminate as they see fit, but must actually provide some record or proof as to why they have made the determination that results in your account being terminated. Without such, incurred losses such as time, pleasure and financial are subject to legal ramifications and if it continues NCSOFT is opening themselves up to a class action lawsuit.
I hope the overseers, whoever they may be, will correct this violation of the contact and provide customers the opportunity to prove their legitimacy without their account being terminated wrongfully and such losses being incurred.

Start posting complaints on their facebook page instead or make a facebook page yourself with a name like GW2 Unfair Business Practices. kitten it, I’m giving my ideas away. Ops nvm ppl.
