Guild Wars 2

It’s a shame that so few people reply and seem not to care about it. I think I’ll be looking for something else in the future. I really wanted to like this game, really.

I’ve been active for a short while in the forums now, and i really wanted to point out how much I would love to see an arena mode in Guild Wars 2.

I am a PvP player. I basically devote all my time i can spare into PvP.
Especially PvP in MMO’s is a lot to my liking.
I like having a lot of abilities, and being able to play in the third person against other players. For me its the ultimate PvP it’s where most fun comes from in every kind of MMO.

I’ve been playing WoW arenas for years. I was under the top 1-5 Teams basically every time i played actively.

I completely see how sPvP and WwW can be a lot of fun but for the some of us its just not it. Some of us are looking for a non Battleground like PvP mode. A mode where killing the opponent means winning the game. The arena mode is in my opinion really missing here.
I think its great having a mode where capturing points is necessary but i don’t see myself playing Guild Wars 2 in the future because of the lack of arena.

I can only see arenas being very beneficial to the game because it promotes very intense team play, perfection of professions and another option of e-sport.
Its very good for players that want to group with a team consisting of 2,3, 4 or 5 people.
You can join quickly and stop playing whenever you like. The matches can be very past paced or very long and intense depending on the enemy skill level.
There is no need of team organization, player will be able to quickly find two or more others for their team.
It would give endless content to all players relatively easy. Hours and hours of game play.

I really like Guild Wars 2 a ton so far. I basically enjoy every aspect of it but the fact that there is no arena is really giving me a hard time playing the game any longer.
I don’t want to offend here Arena.net, your game is fantastic it’s just not doing it for me at this time because i only really love doing arenas.

I want to ask you all of you guys here in the forums how much you would like to see arena happening in Guild Wars 2. Feel free to bless us with your constructiveness

I’m very eager to hear from Arena.net. Anything at all would be just great. Whether you are thinking about it or there is no chance at all that arena will happen doesn’t matter. Any kind of information would be very satisfying.

Can i say once more how awesome arena in Guild Wars would be?
Seriously it would be so awesome I would be playing just that straight for a long long time.

It may be because I’m veeeery sleepy right now but at the moment I don’t see why it could be so bad for Guild Wars. I mean if players start to play something so much isn’t that more of a good thing? Doesn’t that mean that something is wanted and a lot of people are craving for it (like me)?

I can’t think of any company that doesn’t want to put something out because they fear everybody is going to want it so bad they are going to go crazy about.
It could mean tears, rage, haters but personally I think that’s pretty much normal in anything that’s popular. There are always going to people who hate for whatever reason.

Personally I would be very disappointed if Arena net wouldn’t implement arena in Guild Wars 2 . (inside hint)

I was a huge fan of World of Warcraft arena, it was the only reason i played the game for so many years. Arena was basically “The PvP” for highly “skilled” players in WoW.
The ranking system was just awesome.
I know it had it’s problems, class balance, abuse, etc. but overall it was just a very good experience and I think the whole WoW arena community would agree with me.

While WwW is fun and all and Spvp can be very successful in bringing in an e-sport kind of PvP like FPS games as Halo do, the implementation of Guild Wars arena could allow people like me to play with their one, two or three friends as a small group without the need of group organization. Joining would be quick and easy and a ladder system would definitely be beneficial.
Arena wouldn’t hurt as an additional mode of PvP and i see lots people enjoying it.
This would draw the attention of all players that like arena kind PvP to Guild Wars.
I think Arena net is capable of doing a better arena mode than anyone else has done.

Here’s some things that came to my mind after 10 seconds of intense thinking:
Some solid points, just really quickly done. I bet you guys can add a ton more!

- small grouped PvP (huge plus for me, this would bind me to this game for ever)
- competitive PvP for small groups
- better options for causal players
- a death match in PvP which doesn’t exist yet. (Killing doesn’t win you games.)
- a new tactical feel (killing opponents rather than capturing zones.)
- more content for all players
- an option for more esport
- new fanbase
- lots of new players joining only because arena exists
- tons of fun!
- and for the most part more longevity

Any kind of reply from Arena net team would be greatly appreciated here.
And of course I’d love to hear more of other players opinions.

Sorry for any kind of mistakes, repetitive statements or whatever I may have done. I haven’t slept for like 1 1/2 days now :/.

Windows 7 Home Premiun 64-bit

Normally my settings are on medium/high. Giving me a 25-50 fps at solo play.
I’m getting very low fps on heavily populated areas. Large Events and WwW are basically unplayable.
It doesn’t seem to matter whether I change my graphic settings or not. Large events and PvP remain unplayable.
