Small guild, big name! PvX, Sea of Sorrows/Yak’s Bend
Recruiting now – PM ingame or on forums if interested!
It’s been a little while but Squee Guild is now actively recruiting again! While we have players and guild architecture on both Yaks Bend and Sea of Sorrows our Oceanic crew on SoS are currently the most active.
If you are interested in trying us out – either as a member or just as a PuG – simply send me an ingame or forum PM! No obligations, just hoping to help players find some fun, friendly and helpful people to fill their friendlists with!
Hope to hear from you soon
Met some awesome people so far – both PuGs and new members! We are always open for more just bug me ingame or on forums if you are interested in either.
Hi xenoaroe! If you havn’t found a guild yet Squee guild [yay] may be able to help you out if you are interested!
We have a largely Australian and American guild mix (with a token Canadian and Euro!) that are playing on Sea of Sorrows and Yaks Bend. Activity ranges from semi-hardcore to casual (unfortunately ‘mature’ means less playtime ) but in general everyone plays during their respective evening times. (PST and GMT+11). We mainly aim for nightly/weekend Dungeons or WvW and levels and profession vary from lvl 80 to newly started.
We are additionally a small guild and aim to stay that way – I’d much rather know the names of people I play with than have new members hopelessly lost in the crowd. (Or excluded from long-term cliques.)
If any of this interests you and your friends just send me a private message/mail ingame or on the forums.
If not then – free bump! I’d love to expand my PuG contacts (aka friend list) for Dungeons and WvW so if you are also interested just give me an add!
A general guild child forum (or whatever it would be called :\) could handle the discussions (such as this suggestion) too! There have been some generally helpful and insightful topics specific to guilds and their management that just get flooded out due to the ridiculously high volume.
As mentioned, searching the titles may help and the forum search goes a long way in sorting out desirable guilds (so long as their recruitment information is detailed enough) but just generally browsing is such a mess – the fact that the individual player and guild recruitment threads are competing for front page is not very efficient. (I would at least prefer those two categories to be separated!) Browsing separate forums if you are open to transfer would be no harder than sifting through the sheer number of threads open and active at this time on the combined sub-forum.
There are a couple highly populated oceanic servers if you wanted to look into them – Sea of Sorrows was reportedly the ‘official’ oceanic server (though I do not know on whose authority) with Isle of Janthir also possessing a strong Australian contingent. It may also depend on which activities you wish to gravitate towards but as far as I can tell for now the population and WvW capabilities seem to be the most important choices.
(For example myself and other Australian guildies left for Sea of Sorrows as populations in the previous couple of servers we tried were lacking during Australian evenings.)
As to the actual topic at hand Squee guild [yay] is recruiting if you are interest.
We have both Australian and American players, though due to how awesomely mature we are game-time is more restricted to evenings and weekends.
We aim to foster a friendly and helpful environment but we may lack the structure that you may be used to in previous MMO guilds. Our long term is mainly player-based rather than global domination. :P Rank is probably not desirable as it means I’ll just boss you around more.
Our members are mainly based in Yak’s Bend (more US oriented server) and Sea of Sorrows (Oceanic) and progression and professions range all over the place. I’d like to think we are fairly noob-friendly should you even be looking for a guild to find your feet ingame with for the time being.
If none of that interested you however we also welcome PuGs should we have the space in party (Dungeons and WvW mainly) so feel free to give me an add or PM ingame or message me on the forums!
Good hunting, hope you find the right guild for you!
Bump for the weekend!
Still looking for more, but at the moment our Aussie contingent is the most active with nightly Dungeon and/or WvW runs
PuGs are welcome for either activity if you would like to expand your ingame contacts but keep your guild loyalty – just add me ingame! (Any adds without PMing me with interest to join will be assumed PuGs. Just so I don’t bug people for no reason.)
I think another thing to consider is how new the game is – I would think it would be pretty rare that an individual will spend their entire time in a game’s lifespan with the same guild. (Not that they don’t exist!)
As per Cruzyo’s advice, patience is key, we’re only 2 months in!
I wouldn’t begrudge any transient members at this point because the game is still in flux – a lack of subscription means there are plenty of casuals only now putting down the game for new releases, transfers are still free and with guild bonuses being server specific some players might not feel it worthwhile settling down just yet, I have members who quite literally burnt themselves out and are on hiatus.
In the mean time, keep at it. As some have said the number of players to recruit are rare but you’ll not find any if you don’t promote at least a little. Only other thing I can suggest is to keep building your contacts! (Which imo is a lot harder now!) If you don’t have a lot of people in-roster but can still field a dungeon team it may go a long way in creating incentive for members to stay.
However, if those college players were anything like me they are doing the ‘afk’ playing while studying and I usually felt too guilty to chat much in those cases heh.

Oh dear this forum moves fast! (Shame there isn’t a sub-forum to differentiate between individual and guild posts either)
Anyhoo, alternative ingame contacts:
bbbenson.2394 (AU)
Lyra Winry.1896 (US)
Hey Im Chase.6927 (US)
Finally, if you are also merely looking to jump on someone’s friendlist for pugging potential feel free to add me
Now that the release honeymoon period is over, Squee Squeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee [yay] is looking for fun social members to join us in Guild Wars 2 activities! Feel free to scroll to the bottom for the tl:dr version (recommended!), but thanks at least for checking out the thread, and hope to hear from you soon!
Servers:
Sea of Sorrows/Yak’s Bend
Activities:
PvE (both general and Dungeons) and WvW (we prefer skirmishing). Long-term goals will include sPvP – probably once enthusiasm for full-time PvE wanes.
Goals:
Everyone knows someone in the guild and we aim to keep that style of community going. Guild Wars 2 has made a great effort in providing a co-operative PvE and PvP atmosphere however the long-term social interactions that made the previous game so great are no longer as easy to foster. We’d love to build upon that foundation again for Squee and will therefore be keeping the 50 member maximum to preserve this aim.
Basic Info (the boring guff):
What we can provide:
A tight-knit helpful, social and fun atmosphere. Banks and Tier 3 Economic upgrades on both servers. We also have a Ventrilo server (though use is merely preferred, not compulsory)
We cannot guarantee supply full-time upgrades however as we will not be aiming for a large player base. (Assuming that would even be possible! :P )
What you need to have:
A sense of humour and a pulse.
Background Info:
Squee Squeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee [yay] (or Squee) was formed during the Factions release of Guild Wars. Mainly a GvG-oriented guild we would mostly be remembered as the late-night (American) GvG PuG or ‘that lame, talentless sin-split guild on Druids’. For some time I would hazard to say that we were one of the top rated PuG GvG guilds (top 20), more so a credit to our PuG recruiting prowess than the quality of the guild. Now of course we are much older, wiser and still as talentless so for now we are sticking to the more PvE-oriented activities. Should a PvP mode more akin the GvG surface later however I have no doubt the existing members will be all over it like a bad rash.
TL:DR
Looking for: Social, active players preferably on Sea of Sorrows and Yak’s Bend. Currently PvE and WvW centric guild. Active both Australian and American evenings (PST and GMT: 11+).
Have: Vent, Banks and most PvE upgrades. Member cap to stay at 50.
No obligation. We are looking to expand our ingame contacts at the very least, and create an awesome and friendly guild of active players at the best.
No rules. Just have fun, use common courtesy and don’t be a jerk.
We have 24 e’s in our name and a pink unicorn emblem.
Contact!
Ingame PM, ingame mail, forum PM or by email: squeeguild@gmail.com in that preferred order, but feel free to also send any questions or comments my way!
Website to come soon.
