Got it!! when I got the candle it was at the store in zone 3… just came with an alt and got the candle on the store at zone 2 (free) and the achievement popped!
I have the exact same problem. I met someone last night who said they achieved 7/7 without the slingshot… So, my guess is that the achievement is bugged.
Not quite sure if you’re still looking for this answer, but I did Sorrow’s Embrace again and wondered the exact same thing. It sounds like Tolfdir from Skyrim – if you played Skyrim, that is. :p
