Backspurr is pretty neat, 7.5
I’ve got Moltek Oversunder.
My buds decided that they were going to all be a Warband adjective-sunder.
And I went for a corruption of the Polish word for Hammer, M?otek. ’Cus hammers.
Not sure weather or not this would do better in the Lore forums or not, but it is Human centered.
So the Krytans are Mediterranean-like people who founded Lion’s Arch and lived on the edge of the Maguuma jungle. They were tan-skinned with probably very early Spanish influences.
And the Ascalonians were the pale-skinned Irish/European/French inspired people who fled from Ascalon into Kryta when the Charr invaded.
Where are all the Native Krytans? Half the people look Ascalonian and half of the people look Canthan; which isn’t unheard of because there were Canthan refugees too.
I would hope the natives would outnumber the Refugees.
I might be a bit too tight up about consistency and such but the biggest problem I have with that is that Ascalonians are so boooooring and generic. Pre-searing was the worst part of GW1 because it was so boooooooooooooooooring and generic.
Then we got to Kryta and everything is cool, and they have the political stuff surrounding the White Mantle which was interesting.
Then we got to go to Cantha which looked awesome, and meet the Luxons which were amazing, and the Kurzicks who had stupid clothes but the rest of their stuff looked so great.
Then we got to go to Elona which has the best NPCs, Culture, and landscape out of all of the Guild Wars countries.
Personally, I think the Mushroom, Cactus, and Wood Sylvari look the best.
But okay, I do have a real complaint:
The Sylvari seem to be to marry-sue to me. Very few of the NPCs have any kind of personality, and it seems nearly none of them are capable of being anything less than perfect. There are a few Sylvari NPCs I really like, and those are the ones with character given to them.
And every time it pops up in NPC dialogue, Sylvari appear to be the best at everything.
Best armor, best weapons, best tank pilots, best scouts, best warriors, best commanders.
There seems to be too much importance and respect put on a race/culture that popped out of a tree twenty years ago.
From what I understand cloaks weren’t put in because of clipping or something?
I’d say then go for mantles. They served mostly the same purpose and are shorter. And then imagine some berzerking Norn running around in a bearskin mantle.
I’ve had the most success as a Banner focused Mace/Shield tank.
The biggest problem I have with Banners in PvE is that they aren’t very Mobile, but the fights in Dungeons are usually bigger and have higher stakes so banners do a lot of good.
And while you can’t take in a traditional way going mostly Vitality/Toughness helps a lot. Main hand mace has a counter attack, and the shield gives an ability that makes you practically immortal for a few seconds. Couple those two with timing your dodges and you’re golden.
But like Seren said do what you enjoy, this is just the kind of build I enjoy.
The races already show an affinity to certain classes.
And for the most part, unless under certain conditions, Racial skills suck.
I only use Battle Roar on my shout-focused Warrior (And still don’t get much from it, but I at least like to have it.)
And I’d only ever use Shrapnel Mine/Hidden Pistol on an engineer because the Toolbelt version of it is on par with other Gadget skills.
I’ll only use the Human’s healing skill on Mesmers, but mostly because Mesmers have no ability to heal themselves.
And I’ll only use pretty much any of the Asura skills on Engineers/Mesmers because they accent those skill types being Glamors/Gadgets. Save the Radiation field it’s useful in many ways.
I hope this never gets fixed.
Instead of religion debate it’s probably better to give context to the Charr’s reasoning.
In the first game they were a shamanistic society worshiping the Titans, who were Demonic servants to Abaddon. Who had the Titans and Charr invade the Human nations.
At the end of Nightfall you kill Abaddon and Kormir becomes a god in his place. But as far as the Charr see it, some yahoos from the middle of nowhere just killed their god’s god and it probably started some kind of big change in perspective saying “if gods can be killed then they aren’t worth worship” and probably started killing off the remnants of the titans themselves.
I can understand that some people don’t want to play ugly or old characters. But I don’t like playing super hansom or pretty guys – especially the ones in guild wars because they kind of look like Ken dolls.
But I don’t know why the ugly heads are even select able since they’re there.
And I would probably delete my level 61 or so (Not entirely interested in the rush to 80) warrior if I could get a guy that looks like this awesome guy.
I think the problem with Mantras is they’re kind of bad.
The idea is amazing though. Charging up your magic before a fight and instantly shoot off some magic.
But you only get two shots and they do next to nothing. They could benefit if you were able to generate more charges or they had a bit more potency.
