The folder contents is exactly the same for me. Sizes matches (only the .dat is slighty different). It is my only folder too. I checked my registry to see if there were pointers to other locations, but none that I could detect (from my searches using expected terms like guild, ncsoft and anet).
Meanwhile the game keeps crashing on WvW. Same pattern. Too many players in an area, game starts to lag (not only mine, you can hear people complaining on the TS channel) and then the error screen pops.

This one is interesting. “missing textures”. still related to a “TRY_ALLOC failure”, which I suppose means that GW2 tried to allocate memory and it didn’t work. I don’t have disk error on my log, unlike TheCrimzonJester.

I am getting the similar memory allocation error under the same conditions. It started not that long ago (4-6 weeks). My card is a GTX 670 (see dump). I have sent dozens of reports to ArenaNet to no avail so far.
I’ll really prefer that they would spend some time trying to fix those bugs instead of spending time with (mostly annoying) new content every 2nd week. Please make the basics work first. Here is what I get:

My 2 cents (and wishful thoughts)
- To address server population imbalance.
- It is really only critical in the late nights/early morning (right now on our server we have long queues on all borders on prime time), when most of WvW is depopulated. As the point tick does not differentiate between prime time and late hours, a few dedicated ’night-shifters’ can heavily influence the final WvW score.
To minimize this effect, my suggestion is:
- Adjust the tick for WvW server points according to the time of the day (or total aggregate population in all 3 servers).
The expected result would be:
- Peak hours (i.e. times of the day that most players are online) would contribute more to the WvW server score than non-peak hours. All players could ideally influence equally on the total score, no matter what time they play.
- A win-win for all WvW players. Night-shifters would still be able to cap entire maps and get their rewards accordingly, but their influence on the total server score would decrease – and other players would not be dishearten to find out that the gap on the server scored quadrupled over night.
Implementation:
- Anet knows of course the total distribution of players in WvW according to the time of the day on EU and US servers – and on the plus side for the coders: it would not be difficult to implement.
(disclaimer: I have posted this on suggestions a while ago)
Hello,
A common complain in WvW is about servers that conquer entire borderlands on the late nights/early morning, when most of WvW is depopulated. Of course, it is a valid strategy but since the distribution of points is homogeneous during the entire day, a few dedicated ’night-shifters’ can heavily influence the WvW score. To minimize this effect, I’d suggest to:
- throttle the clock for WvW server points according to the time of the day.
The result would be that peak hours (i.e. times of the day that most players are online) would contribute more for the general WvW server score than non-peak hours. And all players could ideally influence equally on the total score, no matter what time they play. Naturally, Anet knows the total distribution of players in WvW according to the time of the day on EU and US servers, and that would not be difficult to implement.
In my opinion that would be a win-win for all. Night-shifters would still be able to cap entire maps and get their rewards accordingly, but their influence on the total server score would be minimized - and other players would not be dishearten to find out that the gap on the server scored had quadrupled over night.
Please, read this as an initial idea. I’d love to have it discussed.
