GW2 is certainly not an MMO for MMO player.

It’s a MMO for people who don’t like MMOs. Which is GW2’s main appeal and its biggest strength.

Oh look, you’re back to troll another thread (or white knight it, depending on one’s viewpoint).

Most MMOs have a stick and carrot approach. GW2 has a stick which is also supposed to be the carrot, according to your view. You should have fun just experiencing going through the content.

However… all of the content feels so kitten similar after a while, and if I don’t have something good to show for it then there’s little reason to continue doing the same things over and over again. If GW2 is an MMO not for MMO players, then according to your view, it’s a game for single players which ends when you’ve experienced everything.

Pity most (including myself) will probably not reach that point becomes it becomes too boring after you get through a quarter of it, as you go through more of the same.

P.S. the fact that you act so kitten condescending in every post of yours is highly irritating; please get off your high horse

The way I look at it there are two possibilities.

1: The OP is a troll. So blatantly bringing up a topic that will instantly get 99% of GW2 players heated up and irritated by his viewpoint doesn’t seem like a smart idea; unless your point is to troll. In that case, he’s a fed troll (which makes sense considering that he hasn’t posted in a while now; he’s high off his success and his work is done).

2: The OP is an Anet white knight. No matter what Anet does, no matter how much $$$ they extract from their playerbase through gems, Anet can do no wrong. “Anet has said grind is bad and this is their grindless game! Death to Anet’s enemies!” That’s what I pull from the OP’s sig.
The problem here is it’s an incredibly naive, fanboyish viewpoint that’s unrealistic. No company is perfect, and according to a large number of disgruntled players, and also according to the devs themselves, they’ve kittened up (I refer back to the AMA about ascended gear).

I’d consider myself a fairly normal player. I don’t especially like farming, but I’ll do a bit of it when necessary. I think it’s a fairly normal thing to expect:
1. Enjoyable gameplay
2. Good, concrete rewards for that gameplay

Before Fractals, Orr’s rewards were considered good, but the gameplay in Orr itself is highly repetitive and boring, after a little while. It’s the same with Fractals now. Orr now is both repetitive and boring still, and has no worthwhile rewards.

What the OP’s view is, is that there should be fun gameplay, and it doesn’t matter if there are good rewards are not; you just have fun. That’s a load of bullkitten, because no matter what I’m going to get bored doing the “fun” activities if I don’t get something to show for it.

Wow, I tell you one thing NSP, you set your sights on something you get it. Even at the cost of all else!

We took your trebs down at SM soo many times only to see 2 placed for every one taken down. Every push you made and fell back you came back with even more bodies. The golems you brought to their dooms fell only too see more a half hour later. It was funny that the whole time you tried to take it from us I’m pretty sure AR and GoM had your whole borderlands once each.

I would like to thank all of Anvil rock that helped me hold onto Overlook for the 9hrs I was on (12-9pm). When NPS finally took it and instantly set up a large number ballistas at our spawn many of our guys were pissedoff, but I was happy. We did great

Can I ask one thing? Do you organise your player base to flood one map at a time? I’m not judging the tactic, it obviously works for you guys. The reason I ask is because every time I have hit a map you were not running I have been able to easily 4man your hills and bay without intervention.

Thanks for leading the defence for so long! We were doing better than I’d seen for quite a while on AR.

GW2, unlike other MMOs, is not a game designed for farmers, grinders and exploiters; it’s designed for everyone else. The main reward for doing events should be having fun.

What are you smoking? Vertical progression ensures that you have to farm and grind; or else you fall behind the pack.

It’s already a given when you’ve got legendaries, but ascended gear makes grind necessary.

BTW Osicat is should mention that not only are you vids quite helpful, but they’re also so darn fun to watch too! The good music helps as well

Kinda depressing for me; there’s fairly big BP groups all over the place, and they own almost all 4 maps.

Thanks so much for the guide! I’m still in the dull, lower levels of my mesmer but I’ll be definitely trying it out!

Just wondering, you’ve posted keybindings a couple times, which is really helpful for new players like myself; some of the stuff you see people do in pvp seems impossible with default keybindings. Could you perhaps edit those keybindings into the opening post?

Also, what key do you use to swap weapons?
