People just see how hard it is to kill a bunker dd ele due to RTL + healing and cry for nerfs. What they dont want to realize is that those bunker builds deal mediocre damage.
I just love people like you, who play ele and defend their class ^ without any proper input in actual improovement.
Ele bunkers need a nerf because:
1. They can witstand 2vs1 easily, 3vs 1 with problems, meaning in pvp based on conquest enemies will need half of their resource team to take down 1 elementalist ( who thanks to knockbacks can easily take the points, and hold it)
2. At the current state, 2 ele bunkers are a part of 80-90% of the premade teams, meaning 2 safe kiting points and lots of time to switch for the rest
3. bunker ele does medium damage, but it’s not the damage here, it’s the part that he can fight 2vs1 so easily( and even manage to kill 1 in the process) for so long, it makes playing pvp in conquest mode no fun at all.Thats why they need the nerfs. But, as always, ele players will cry, that ele doesnt need nerfs ( because they play 1, and they don’t want any skill involved in their gameplay, solely balancing advantage).
The facts are, that Instagib thieves and ele bunkers are the most gameruining unbalances atm, and they need to be dealt with in order to make pvp viable.
I think it’s you who understand at all, the healing power coefficient of our minor trait has already been nerfed by 50%, not every ele use a cleric amulet anyway.
Furthermore what you and the majority of the community don’t ( or want to) understand is the fatc that eles lack any kind of survivability outside water trait investmentThis is quoted for absolute truth.
They need to add survival (true evasions, blocks, and distortion) to weapon skills, particularly D/D, then strip a significant amount of passive regens from water.
I’m sure a LOT of D/D eles would love to move from bunker to offensive, but can’t because 10k hp + light armor + zero evasive maneuvers on daggers = dead ele.
i would love to change to offensive….tried many times but got one shotted by everything….

well if I follow your logic almost all classes need a nerf…..specially mesmer shatter build ……..bunker are supposed to supress damage (just like bunker guardian)………

It seems quite skilled to me and earning their points legit.
He does things like using 1 sec distortion skills efficiently for example….What did his opponents do?
thats what im saying (it was sarcasm =p)….. A skilled player can 1vs2…. you cant say “nerf that class because a skilled player can outplay me”….that’s what i was trying to say =)

As Anet considers WvW as part of PvE the nerfs to affect WvW will also affect PvE. Lets face it people: Everyones tired of how eles equipped with a staff are able to easily survive running glass cannon gear meanwhile totally destroying everyone in PvP and PvE and being god amongst mere mortals in the hands of a good player. Those guys definitely need a nerf. Staff is simply to strong in every part of the game. Just watch this staff ele easily soloing Arah path 2:

Well lets see how this AOE nerf patch will affect us…… but i get the feeling that is time for me to look for another MMO….when ESO comes out?
Every time i hear about something new coming out i think “how they are going to mess up with the gameplay again”…..firegrab doesn’t hit, our grasp stun us for 2 seconds, our lightning auto attack cant hit smaller target….
Well lets just keeping the nerfing make this game less enjoyable…. ¬¬
There is allot that could be added, that would have a more “mage feel” to
it than currently. For instance, when I think of invisibility and mirror images,
I think of a Mage, but those skills went to a Mesmer. Maybe its my fault
in considering an Ele a typical mage.Mesmers seem more like an Illusionist, while the Ele seems to be the wizards
or mages prototypes, and yet there are many traditional mage concepts that
they dont have.
I agree with you… i chose elementalist because i had the feeling that Ele would sound like mage/wizard, but somehow i got disappointed. Don’t get me wrong, i love the mobility from a D/D Ele. But I would love to cast massive burst spells with my staff with some good range =)…..
Well i feel like Ele have inherited a lot of cons from classes mages/wizards like squishness and long cooldown (we need to put a lot of our traits in arcane to compensate this) but not their pros like their ability to burst at range, deceives…….
Playing with a “caster” class at melee range is kinda tricky and kinda forces you to build bunker to not get killed with one shot…

But yea, GC build that spikes out a target or two in a second? Fine enough.
People who keep building squishy will keep wrothing over it like they do over BS thieves, kill shot warriors and what not.Seems really fun build though, i might try it sometime when soloing.
I know that is hard to find but would be nice being able to nuke and have some escape mechanism…like mesmers or thiefs =)

Mannn….i remember when i was try to level with d/d was a pain……..tbh sometimes i had to switch to scepter or staff so i could have more range and control the mobs.
As far as i remember D/D will only scale after level 50 or 60 (correct me if Im wrong).
My traits are 0/10/10/20/30…….water can give u some survivability and arcane trait can help u to switch ur attunements faster (as a D/D u will have to swith all attunements as fast as you can).
