I have the same problem with the Connection error – fresh install (only purchased 4 days ago) and get the error seemingly on downloading the last file. I’ve removed the processes and registry info from the attached Game Advisor report as I consider it to be a security risk; but the telling bit it seems is the

lines in the trace routes for addresses like file1.arenanetworks.com.

Also removed a few other bits of info like my external IP Address, user account info, etc.

The installer downloads around 15.5 GB of files before I get the error, and seems to get stuck at around the last file. Or maybe it’s the entirety of the new patch. I don’t know.
No error codes to go by. I’ve already checked the firewall and antivirus, and they are letting the traffic through fine.

After 4 days and 3 downloads later, I’m almost ready to give up and ask for my money back. I would expect a much better experience than this when getting a new game, and I haven’t even had a chance create a character, let alone explore the content.

No other games I play constantly have these kinds of problems.

Have installed GW2 on my Win8 computer, downloaded the files, then seemingly at the last one I get “Connection error(s) detected. Retrying…” Downloaded over 15GB and it seems to be logging me into the launch screen ok (I see the Welcome, Beran! bit with the news).

There’s no error codes, and I’ve tested the firewall and antivirus and traffic is getting through on the designated ports.

Anyone got a way around this?
