Guild Wars 2

So obviously it’s not going to be efficient pulling this data and then displaying it on a jQuery table, it’s probably easier if I pull it all into a database and feed the web service from there.

That link to your database file gives me a 404 by the way.

I have only today discovered the awesomeness that is the Guild Wars 2 API so I have been messing with some of it. Basically, without sending a bajillion HTTP requests to the web service, what is the most efficient way to pull down a list of every item in the game and their name?

Not only is the gem store purely unrequired to enjoy 100% of the games content, it doesn’t give an unfair advantage to paying players in any way shape or form. Without the gem store, ArenaNet can’t:

• Pay their development team to create new features, content.
• Pay their community team to promote the game and interact with players.
• Pay for the rack rental space at their data centre.
• Pay for their server managers to ensure the machines are running optimally.
• Pay their executives to travel to gaming conventions to discuss the future.

If they removed the gem store, to be feasible, the game would need to be a monthly subscription. That’s all there is too it.

Kotaki is your favorite artist? I mean, he is good and all, and I really admire his work, but getting a sleeve of his artwork seems like a lot. I guess I’m asking why he inspires you so much? Are you an artist as well?

I guess, like most things, art is speculative and opinionated. I find Kotaki to be one of the best at what he does and I highly admire his work. I’m also very fond of my tattoo artist, so I’m overall happy with the ink.

I have lost count of the exact amount of time but I do know it’s over 30 hours. I would say by the time it is completed and I am extremely happy, it will be closer to the 40 hour mark.

I have had this work done for a little over 2 years now, I still have a little bit more to go under my inner arm, near my armpit. But it’s very close to completion and I am really happy with the work. There are a few familiar faces in the work like Rytlock and Zojja.

I actually started this project around 6 months prior to the Guild Wars 2 release, I didn’t get this because I am a fan of the game or the series. I got this because Kekai Kotaki is a huge inspiration to me and one of my favourite artists of all time.

I have purchased 3200 gems today and am currently trying to purchase another 1600 and it keeps giving me card approval failed. My friend even tried on his own account with his own card and same problem, when will we be able to purchase gems again?
