I had 8/11 classes level capped. I filled all roles, healing, tanking, melee dps, ranged dps, casting. In PvP I’ve done flag carrying, base defending, PvP boss tanking. You name it I did it. I led rated battlegrounds to 1.7k rating, got to 1.9k rating in 2s and 3s arenas. I chose engineer because while I did mainly play melee in WoW, ranged was my favorite, specifically a hunter. My hunter was one of my “main mains” (lol) throughout my time in WoW. Engineer caught my eye because I could be a ranged damage dealer, and I have so many options in the manner I want to do ranged damage.
engis are one of the strongest classes atm, there are few roles you can run too
for example decapper or condi dmg
there are many builds, all depends on your playstyle
what did you play in wow?

Hey guys I’m fairly new to the game. I’m coming to GW2 from WoW and I really thoroughly enjoy the PvP in this game. I was just wondering what class I should play for PvP. I really like the idea of an Engineer; throwing grenades, planting bombs, incinerating people with a flamethrower. Engineers look a lot of fun but are they very good for PvP? I know from experience in mmo’s that any class can be good, it’s all skill dependent. Are there any good engineer builds that are very strong? As in does great damage and has great survivability. I notice that necromancers who spec into a vampiric pet build do very well, being able to tank 2-3 people and hold a node and 1v1 extremely well and rarely be beaten. are there any similar engineer builds? or should I just forget about playing an Engineer?
