I hate to compare GW2 against something it’s not, but one of the few things i liked about WoW was that you could have 2 talent builds and 2 equipment sets that you could switch between out of combat with a single button. This allowed you to jump between dungeon runs and pvp without needing to visit the bank and your class trainer every time. You could make a build and gear set for pve, switch and make another for pvp. So only one was active at a time, but you had the versatility to switch between them anytime. I feel sort of limited in GW2 because I have to have separate characters for pvp, pve damage and pve support.
Pretty much anytime i’m fighting mobs in an enclosed area, it becomes a problem. They start respawning behind me sometimes 30 seconds after i’ve killed them. Almost makes the game unplayable. I just don’t see the logic behind having such rapid respawning.
I came to this MMO after getting fed up with WoW. But even in WoW you could clear an area by yourself, and things would stay dead long enough for you to at least get back out.
Being new to this game, the thing that irks me the most during gameplay is how fast enemy npcs respawn in the world. Going into a cave or dead end-area with only one way out, having to clear your way into and out of the room is annoying. If I do a skill challenge where I have to fight a mini-boss like a veteran npc, clearing the immediate area first is almost a waste of time, because all these enemies will respawn in my back and kill me halfway through the big fight. I’ve voiced my opinion to other players, and they seem to think it is because of how overpopulated the world was during beta. But from what I can tell, there is no need to have enemies respawn so quickly that you can’t even get up to grab a drink without coming back to the game to find your character defeated by the same enemy you just killed. This is something I would really like to see rectified.
