Living Story & New Daily Achievements.

I’m seeing a lot of negativity in the forums about the new rotating daily achievements.
I just wanted to say that I am really enjoying them and that with the living story has brought me back into playing more regularly.

GW2 has something for everyone, PVE, PVP, Dungeons, etc. I would expect (and by seeing the forum posts) that not many of us are massively into all those aspects, so it is understandably difficult to please everyone all the time.

I previously gave up on the monthly achievements because of the PVP aspect (i’m not very good at it. My reactions speeds are not as fast as someone half my age) Now that the monthly requirements change, it allows me the opportunity to sometimes have a go at getting the monthly achievement. Thank you.

The last few days i’ve enjoyed looking at the new daily onscreen display and seeing what different things I can do today. Some people are saying that this change is making GW2 a more grinding game and this is completely wrong. Grinding is doing the same repetitive task over and over and over and over again (As in Archlord or World of BoreCraft). Rotating the daily achievements means your doing some different tasks every day.

All those people moaning that they now have to gather stuff, or craft stuff, etc please understand that not everyone enjoys playing the same way as you do and mixing these achievements up gives all of us play styles a go.

Think I read somewhere that the GW2 team are planning to have a pick a few requirements from a larger list, is this true? If so that would probably keep everyone happy, even the PVP’ers

Finally… Really enjoying the refugee story line so far.. looking forward to see where it’s going.

Cheers..

A massacre zone for those psychopathic moments.

Even though I do like the challenge of the level scaling system in GW2, sometimes I wish I could go into a lower area and vent some frustration by massacring and entire zone with a single swipe. It was annoying in wow when you were waiting for respawns in a level 2 area on a new character, all because a lvl80 just came bounding through with their raid weapons, and over inflated ego.

I do like the current level scaling system, as it lets you explore other starting areas and still gain rewards and XP. Adds much re-playability to the game.

but sometimes… you know, you just want to give out an evil laugh and completely cleanse an entire village of all life, with no actual effort or regret.

Obviously I don’t want to cause problems for people legitimately questing in the area.

So I suggest a “massacre zone for those psychopathic moments” maybe a village in a corner somewhere which has no quests or loot. Maybe an instanced area.

Would be nice to vent a little every now and then, especially after you’ve just been ganked by 2 level 4 wolves, even though your level 60.

Just saying…

I Wish Vistas Were Not Needed for Zone Completion

Keep the Vistas the way they are. Getting 100% completion of a zone is not a requirement for beating and enjoying the game. It’s completely optional. If you don’t enjoy getting the Vistas then don’t do it. No one is forcing you to and they are plenty of fun for those of us that don’t have a problem with it.

I totally agree.

It’s just like those annoying people that complain about a TV program, they don’t like… Don’t watch it then!

Personally I really like the Vistas in the game, it’s something else to do. I wouldn’t describe them as puzzles anyway as they are really not that hard, quite obvious really, “how do i get up there? oh yeah jump up this wall”.

Stuck Events outside Ebonhawke (Aurora Glade) EU

Hi guys just thought I’d mention, that there seem to be a number of events all around the outside areas of Ebonhawke that seem to have been stuck for a couple of days, now.

I’m on the Aurora Glade EU server.

The areas are appearing as active event on the map, but when you get there, nothing is actually happening. Tried speaking to all the NPC’s and tried waiting around for 10mins etc.

Not sure if this is in the overflow or not.

Cheers

No Mounts + Contested Waypoints = Bad Idea

I am on a high population server. 70-80 zones are still empty

Give it a couple of months and the 70-80 zones will be packed.

Guys saying that we don’t need mounts, isn’t really the point. We would like mounts because the’re cool! My preference would be to have mounts, I liked having mounts in wow, it was great fun quickly exploring around the landscape on a fast horse.

IMOO not having mounts at the moment is the only thing that gives wow an advantage over GW2. GW2 has done an amazing job of changing / improving so many MMORPG gaming aspects that really annoyed me in wow, instanced loot/mines for example. Just a pity there are no mounts.

Seen a few arguments of people saying that mounts don’t fit into the history and mythos of GuildWars, but those people have to realise… it’s a fantasy world.
