The stability changes reduced the viability of melee characters in large-scale WvW. Will more than one profession be getting access to a defiance bar?
Tbh im surprised as after talking with several guilds rangers can offer some brilliant abilities that no other class has.
i for one think healing spring is the best water field in the game as it can outheal any other waterfield skill even if they got blasted a few times.
entangle can be an amazing skill when organised to use it at the correct time.people seem to get pigeonholled into this idea that they are poor and yet i see a few of them in most top guild groups because they have some really useful skills.
if anything i would say rangers have more of a use in general zerg and guild groups then thiefs do
Which useful skills? Name something other than Healing Spring and Entangle. There are very few things a ranger can do for their group. And everything they have, another class can do better while having access to more stuff.
Oh, ranger water field lasts longer, sure. Eles bring 2 water fields they can place at range. And it doesn’t matter how long that field lasts when blasting any water field usually overheals the whole raid, especially when you combine it with Empower heals (you should).
Uh, I guess you can stand in a ranger field and keep getting healed. That sounds like a really dumb idea unless the enemy group is asleep. Being immobile just to make the most of a marginal heal is a quick wipe.
So you’ve got Entangle left. It’s not bad if you have multiple rangers chain it. But that would require bringing multiple rangers, a subpar class until they get to use that trick. And that trick is not on a short cooldown. Other classes have similar abilities, except with much shorter cooldowns. At range. And they can stay alive between their cooldowns.

Once I enter combat, my minions usually plant their feet and do nothing. Occasionally they will keep moving and attack as they should, but this only happens about 10% of the time for each individual minion (this is not hyperbole). For example, if I have out 3 minions, only one of them will attack when I engage a mob. If the mob gets in range of their attacks, if they take any damage, or if I use one of their skills, then that specific minion will wake up.
I think this might be an issue with pathing, since they still seem to attack once something is in range. EDIT: Nevermind, they still don’t attack things in range.

My inventory will occasionally shrink on the horizontal plane. Sometimes I can watch it keep shrinking if I reopen my inventory quickly. This bug came up a couple months ago, yet it was fixed. Now it seems to be back.
See topic. Whenever I try to go to the main server, it often just sends me to another overflow that is even emptier than my starting point. This has been happening to me since the LA events started. There’s no way to tell whether I am getting into the main server, or if I’m about to get KITTENED. It’s Russian Roulette with 5 chambers loaded.
During the Fire Elemental phase of the Fire Shaman world boss, he keeps resummoning the Fire Elemental, so his HP never goes down. I put up with this crap for 20 minutes before giving up. Everyone else just left.
As a norn, you cannot see the lightning attack before it goes off, and the sound effect doesn’t play until it is too late to react with Grounded. The lightning tell is too high to show up on screen. This makes playing a Norn in Sanctum Sprint a VERY bad idea.
Please don’t let the Bloodlust mechanic extend into the jumping puzzle areas. Worrying about gankers is bad enough, but it is bearable. Encouraging gankers by giving their server points is definitely going to make things worse, though. I’ve already done the achievements for these, but new players will be negatively impacted if Bloodlust is present in these otherwise unpopulated areas.
Having the Siege Deployment Blocked status remove Bloodlust would be a good way to avoid this issue.
This is an awesome idea. This is a good way for smaller groups to not worry so much about giving up points if they get wiped.
I have the same issue at 1440×900. I’ve submitted a ticket every month to no avail. This bug has been around for a while.
You guys are kind of the worst of the farming bunch. I always resurrect, help others who also want to farm, and encourage others to do well. If I don’t like my arena anymore, then I simply leave and don’t make a fuss. Gauntlet isn’t intended AT ALL for just farming.
I had a guy actually say to me yesterday that the arena he was at was full and for me to go away. I made sure to stay around, get into a match, and fight for as long as possible. He left not too long after that.
Some guy wanted to farm in peace, so you decided to be a total jerk about it? And yet you have the audacity to come on these forums and act like you’re on the high ground here? Your two paragraphs totally contradict each other. This kind of attitude is the problem. You think you’re nice, yet when someone plays the game in a way you don’t like, you harass them. This moral elitism needs to stop.
Sorry I was distracted by your 15 PPT what did you say again?
Are you seriously talking about ppt against a tier 3 server? lol…you must be so proud of yourself.
Are you seriously thinking your T3 server has uber skillz that can’t be matched by people on a T1 server?
Let me break this down logically for you since your hipster attitude can’t seem to grasp how this pans out.
Most people on the T1 servers originated on the ‘lesser tiers.’ Therefore they do have the experience and skills needed to fight you open field or in smaller groups. Thing is, once they come here they join guilds who teach them how to play in larger group settings since our opponents fight us in the same manner. This means mesmers running feedback/veil instead of decoy/blink/etc. Staff eles for combo fields instead of d/d or s/d with PPT/PVT instead of full cleric’s/valkyrie/etc. The list goes on. Don’t get too kitteny when you run over that upleveled necro who’s in WvW to level up since he knows it will be a boring week.
So when you were losing on reset night, that was part of the master plan, right? I can’t even comprehend your strategies. I guess that’s why I’m on a Tier 3 server, and not a Tier 1 server.
Also, I had no idea elementalists could even EQUIP staves! Thanks for letting me know!
Just use Bluff whenever you can. Don’t ever Burp or Drink until you cannot Bluff. He will drink himself to death; he never uses Bluff.
