Well for point number 4, it doesn’t change for the sake of other players, and replay value. You wouldn’t want the whole HoT content to be reduced to a swampland. They could have made the ending cinematic reflect that, but that would break immersion badly. But yeah, the whole campaign with Mordy was disappointing, was really hoping for something more, at the epicness scale of Zhaitan’s campaign at least.
I guess the key to this was to delete the local.dat file & folder which DOES NOT get removed if you do a normal un-installation. Let the re-installation generate a new file and everything should be solved.. at least this solution worked for me, and I hope it works for you too Mantisse.
Mantisse, I suppose we just have to wait till Anet release a official fix.. that sucks, not being able to play HoT at release.
Meanwhile, we just have to keep these topics up..
While downloading the HoT patch, about 25% through this error suddenly pops out.
After that, whenever I try opening the client, it just crashes straight away with this disk i/o error thingy.
I tried reinstalling the whole game, but it just doesn’t work, with the same disk i/o error coming up again.
Prior to HoT, I have played GW2 with no errors.
If anyone wants the full crash error report, I have it and I can post it later.
All these new stuff is fancy and all but the point for us vets is, it’s not retroactive! So the super rare and expensive items that I acquired through hard work, sweat and blood all those years/months ago do not apply now?
Well some things I guess, but anything that you unlocked in wardrobe or have on your character will count, according to the post.
Even wardrobe unlocks is a new feature that wasn’t retroactive. I have to collect all those rare items again. I’m not a hoarder. Great, now I have to tough through dungeon runs again to collect tokens for those dungeon armor/weapons.
I’m one of those happy quiet players you see around. I would say I’m a pretty content MMO player most of the time, even ANet lacking content updates doesn’t affect me that much. But not anymore.
I respect the work of ANet, with the impressive art style and high quality content paired with their good business model.
But, these can only go so far for so long, especially since I’m a gem spender. Most of the stuff that appeared after the first version of the game, is mostly lackluster. Content is reused (toymaker tixx for e.g.), short & boring (most of season 1 living story, that was horrible). The only good content update was few and far between(Fractured update, good job on that, we need more content updates like these).

ANet apparently do not care about vets and long term players. They just want to cater to the new blood and milk their cash.
I wasn’t so concerned when ANet content updates is not as fabulous as the other MMOs out there, but now with the feature updates lacking as well, I’m starting to lose faith in ANet.
It doesn’t help at all that the moment I decided to buy gems from ANet and spend it on an item, it goes on sale the very next day. It doesn’t help at all. converts to the dark side

Zack Harte – feels like Final Fantasy already. :p it brings the idea of a very dignified, noble & well respected person. Although it is not very unique.. 6/10
7/10. The name makes me feel that Jahn is a down-to earth & practical man, which fits his back-story. It is a little plain & simple, but Beastmaster Jahn fits the idea of a ranger very well. Would be better if ‘Beastmaster’ is an actual title in game :p
My female guardian is named Toggy Toorum. I was inspired by the heroic Toorum in the game ‘Legend of Grimrock’ who almost conquered the Grimrock dungeon single-handedly while leaving notes and warnings about the dungeon dangers. Sadly, he died on one of the levels and we(the player) finds his remains.
I just wanted a simple sounding name like Toorum so I decided on Toggy.
