I know this is certainly the necro of an old thread, but this situation is occurring with my brother on the very first hero point you get in Wayfarer Foothills for killing the large wyrm at the end of the Norn hunt.
Four of us were partied up and three of us could commune and collect the hero point, but he could not. We are new to the game and he was actually playing the game as soon as the install said the game was playable; though I had done the same thing on another character with no issue with the same exact commune.
He also is having the same issue with the map as noted by the OP in this thread.
Any help with this issue would be greatly appreciated. Figured we would try the Forums for a simple solution before entering a support ticket.
