I use S/F – 0/6/6/0/2 – Fresh air + Lightning Flash + arcane skills. Huge burst. Requires knowledge of positioning and timing. Ranged to avoid being focused. No daggers required.

Necromancer’s in PvP

Response to Patch Notes:

The proposed reduction on the overall condition pressure of necromancers by reducing a few bleeds sounds reasonable!

Increasing the internal cooldown on Weakening Shroud will affect a necromancer’s ability to survive quite substantially.

Reduce the duration of the bleed Weakening Shroud applies instead?

Suggestion for Patch Notes:

I would like to see the trait X, Soul Mark, moved to adept tier.

Questions for Devs:

1. Could there be a change to how the death shroud bar appears for teammates in a party to denote a difference between actual health and life force pool?

2. Has Anet considered allowing necromancer’s to recover actual health while in DS?
—This would make siphons slightly better.
— It would increase necromancer’s ability to sustain in team fights.

On a side note:
Is there any possibility of Lyssa runes being removed from PvP?

As a terrormancer a lot of damage comes from fear.

To most effectively chain fear I run spectral grasp, spectral wall, and corrupt boon.

Essentially, I will lay down spectral wall. (Mark or DS) fear them into it. Pull them back into the wall with Spectral grasp. And corrupt boon when they try to escape it with stability.

How many other people have done this?
(It is easy to practice on skyhammer due to the nature of fear being able to send people to their death).

The classic combination of Earth Signet + Dragon’s Tooth + Phoenix is an old classic that I suggest Elementalist revisit.

This combination of skills can often be evaded; however, fresh air gives a huge surge of dps to the burst damage and recovery phase if the combo misses, which keeps players on the defensive.

On top of which, I use the focus over the dagger in the off-hand due to the overwhelming amount of survivability and versatility it offers. The focus also allows me to stay at range the whole time in large fights because my cc chains are now ranged.

Of course I die quickly when focused, that’s why I have 8 seconds of invulnerability. Those two skills can be used for rezzing, stomping, and surviving other burst classes. Thankfully, the 5 in earth lets me keep dishing damage while invulnerable.

This build does tremendous damage and takes a little while to get used to.
Yet, The satisfaction I get from taking out players in one shot is unmatched.
