Guild Wars 2

Had this exact issue, so I checked Event Viewer as suggested. “Session “Microsoft Security Client OOBE” stopped due to the following error: 0xC000000D” was the exact Error I had for both dates that my PC froze on me.

A quick Google search and I kept finding the suggestion to delete the following file/s in C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Microsoft Security Essentials\Support
MSSEOOBE.etl or EppOobe.etl if you can’t find the first one, then restarting your computer. I’m trying it now, not sure if it is guaranteed to work but might as well try

Only now did I find out about ArenaNet.log
So here it is, had a quick glance and it seemed to be something to do with missing animations? o-o Not sure how…

By system hang, I mean my whole PC just locks up. Can’t Alt+Tab out, Ctrl+Alt+Dlt, nothing. It has to be a GW2 issue (that very few people are getting judging by the lack of posts), not likely hardware. Though this doesn’t rule out drivers.

So far it has happened twice in this quest, both times in the same exact area.
After placing the 2nd orb, I head to the next area which is above water (with the wooden walkway and the 3rd altar). After, say, 30 seconds to a 1 minute, GW2 crashes and my PC just hangs. Forcing me to restart the computer.
This is the only time I’ve experienced it, was smooth sailing till here

I checked Windows/Minidump, no dump file corresponded to the days it happened. So I can’t upload anything that might help. The crash dump in my GW2 folder was for an earlier date too :P

System:
i7 950 (non-OC’ed)
Gigabyte HD6970 (OC Edition)
Sabertooth X58
