Hello all.
The wife and I are currently on the Tarnished Coast server and we’re looking for a medium to heavy RP guild to play with. We both have “main guilds” that we are very happy with and rep all the time, however neither of them are into RP to the degree that we’d like to participate in it.
We’re looking for large group-centric plots and storytelling as well as one-on-one/small-group storytelling. Guild stories are cool and so is anything/everything tying into the overall living story of the game.
What we aren’t interested in is very long and drawn out application processes to get into the guild and start rping. I apologize in advance, but we don’t have the time or patience for this “message board” application process that seems prevalent to gain entry into other guilds.
The size of the guild doesn’t matter as long as everyone within the guild is reasonably active. Medium size guilds is preferred, but, again, not a mandatory thing to have. We’re just looking for a home for our characters and to meet some amazing story-tellers within the gw2 universe.
I’m sure you’ve all seen the Elem complaint threads. Now, for groups, when i have someone that can distract an enemy and keep them in place, yeah my ground targeted AoE effects are useful. for the majority, however, i don’t even bother tossing them out, as i’m constantly moving, kiting, and strafing, with the enemies following me. take Staff/Water, for example. 4 GTAoE’s….but i have to swap to it constantly to heal up. which requires i stop moving so my heal restores some of my health. which lets the enemy beat my face in. yeah. so helpful. they really need to rethink these GTAoE skills.
i would just like the elementalist to actually have a couple weapon setups. if we had more options with weapons, our lack of weapon swap wouldn’t be such a letdown
sorry, but i am Fire/Earth traited, just hit 60, with 5 points in water just for the soothing mist ability. my armor is all up to date, i have as much armor (defense from items + toughness) as most heavy armor wearers (i’m at almost 1300 right now), and i have plenty of bonus to vitality (just over 7200 life). i am STILL getting 2-3 shotted. personal storylines are no longer soloable where i am at. most mobs i cannot fight more than one or two at a time, which is a bit of a pain because kiting always picks up one or two recently spawned. i dodge CONSTANTLY, using both kite and circle-strafe. my utilities are typically arcane shield, mist form, and signet of fire, and i use a staff. so no, it’s not just “learn to evade” or “trait defensively”. coupled with this game’s broken leashing (thats when you kite them a little bit, then they turn invulnerable and run back to where they were. WITHOUT dropping agro), solo anything is not viable. the respawn rates are insanely high, even when the server isn’t very populated. this is a great game, and very well done, but arena.net needs to understand that there is more difficulties than WoW’s “a monkey could ace this” and this one’s “you’ve got a better chance at surviving call of cthulu”. as for dungeons….there being absolutely NO agro control simply means that if you don’t have the power to foresee when a mob is going to choose to attack you, you are going to die. and since the enemies in dungeons love to sync attacks onto a single target, expect armor repairs. thank the gods they’re not expensive.
